• The thesis is the systematic and ordered way in which a research is
done. It implies:
• The protocols of the scientific method.
• The examination made by experts.
• Peer-review, in most cases.
• Scrutiny of results, after the research is completed.
• Possibility of rebuttal, only is the claims given are wrong or proven as false.
• Corrections through time, once new knowledge appears.

Quantitative method
• It uses hard data that can be
measured with specific and
accurate instruments.
• Such data can be expressed in
numbers and other reliable data,
since they can be observed in a
certain amount, that is, a certain
quantity.
Qualitative method
• It uses soft data that, although
they cannot be measured
accurately with special
instruments, can be an object of
analysis.
• It studies the qualities of an
object under the scope of the
research.
