HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY, VISION, MISSION, AND

OBJECTIVES OF PLTCOLLEGE, INC.

Section 1. History

PLT College, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit and non-sectarian educational corporation. Primarily, the Corporation was formed to be an educational
institution of higher learning, administered by its Board of Trustees.

The school started as PLT Computer and Technical Services on September 1989. The founder and the first chairman of the Board of Trustees
was Engr. Purisimo L. Tiam, a visionary man and a computer enthusiast. Mrs. Ma. Nonette O. Tiam, his very supportive wife, became the first
President.

The highlights and milestones of PLT College Inc, include:

1990 Department of Education, Culture, and Sports (DECS) granted the permit to operate and was named PLT Computer Technical School.

Management Information System Analysis and Design (MISAD) and Computer Operation Specialist Course (COSC), two year-
courses were offered.

1991 Commission on Higher Education (CHED) granted the authority to operate as a college and was duly

registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as PLT College, Inc.

The two-year courses offered in 1991 were Software Development Courses (SDC) and Computer Secretarial Course (ECSC).

1992 PLT College Inc was duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

Management (BSHRM)
1996 Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCrim)

1999 Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA)
2000 Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSED) and
Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEED)

2001 Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA)

2003 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)


2005 Graduate in Midwifery
2006 Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRT),
and Nursing Attendant and Caregiver Program
2010 Board of Trustees, with the endorsement of the President, approved the recommendation to offer the following degree programs and
were granted Government Recognition in 2013:

 Bachelor of Science in Biology (BSBio),


 Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharma),
 Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT),
 Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BS Entrep),
 Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSMid),
 Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM),
 Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with specialization in International Relations (ABPolSci), and
 Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication (AB Mass Comm).
2015 Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) was granted Government Recognition

2016 Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology (BSAT) was granted Government Recognition; the school requested for the freezing of
the Bachelor of Science in Biology (BSBio)

2017 BS Bio was reopened

(1) Academic Track (Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) Strand, Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand,
Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Strand, General (Education Strand);
(2) Sports Track
(3) Technical, Vocational, Livelihood (TVL) Track (Agri-Fishery Arts Strand, Home Economics Strand, ICT Strand, and Industrial
Arts Strand).

PLT College, particularly the College of Criminology was deputized by the CHED as provider of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency
and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) in 2003

The College was evaluated by the Institutional Monitoring and Evaluation for Quality Assurance (IQuAME) team in 2007 as Category B
(Developing Institution).

The following programs were granted accreditation by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities, Commission on Accreditation
(PACUCOA) and certified by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP).

Computer Science Candidate Status

PLT College, Inc. is one of the two (2) schools in the region to have an Accredited Tertiary Hospital to provide training venues to OJT students
and immediate employment to its graduates, the PLT College Luis A. Tiam Medical Center located in Bascaran, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.

Section 2. Philosophy

Inspired by the noble task of nation building, PLT College, Inc. molds individuals to be instruments of service to God, country, and humanity. As
a non-stock, non-profit, and non-sectarian institution of higher learning, its philosophy was framed after those of the Commission on Higher
Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

PLT College, Inc: An Icon in Humane Education.

Section 4. Mission

We dedicate ourselves to develop humane individuals who are professionally competent, socially responsible, and God-centered.

Section 5. General Objectives

We strive to:

1. lead and develop humane individuals and communities;


2. initiate innovations and technological advancement;
3. pursue academic excellence and global standardization;
4. strengthen instruction, research, extension, and production; and
5. work continuously on quality education and community service
ARTICLE II: THE ADMINISTRATION

Section 1. The Governing Board

The Board of Trustees is the governing body which is composed of the Chairman, Members and Board Secretary.

Section 2. The College Officials

The College is spearheaded by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the President. There are three (3) Vice Presidents, namely, Vice President
for Administration, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Vice President for Finance who is also the Executive Vice President. The other
officials are: Corporate Lawyer, Registrar, Human Resource Development Officer, and Budget Officer, Chief Librarian, School Physician,
Company Accountant and Heads of the different service offices. The School Directors are in: Research and Development, Management
Information System, Extension Services and Outreach programs, Technical, Vocational and Assessment center, Student Personnel Services and
National Service Training Program.
