Section 01
In an era characterized by heightened environmental awareness
and consumer consciousness, the symbiotic relationship between
successful brand management and responsible business practices
cannot be overstated. The Brand Management class recognizes the
imperative for the students to transcend theoretical frameworks and
engage with the real-world complexities of brand development in
the context of conservation.

Kuala Gandah, nestled in the heart of Pahang, stands as a beacon

Introduction for wildlife conservation, particularly in its dedication to the
preservation of Asian elephants. This center has not only carved a
niche in the conservation landscape but has also successfully
crafted a brand that resonates with stakeholders globally. By
choosing this location, the students will witness firsthand how the
principles of brand management can be seamlessly interwoven
with the noble cause of wildlife preservation.

This proposal aligns with global trends where businesses are

increasingly expected to operate sustainably and contribute
positively to societal and environmental welfare. It acknowledges
the evolving role of brand managers as stewards of not only a
company’s image but also its impact on the world. The trip is
designed to prepare the students for the challenges and
opportunities inherent in this paradigm shift.

The significance of this 2-day trip lies in its potential to provide a

holistic educational experience. By integrating theoretical concepts
with practical applications, students will gain a nuanced
understanding of how brand narratives can contribute to the
broader discourse of environmental conservation. The immersive
service learning component will foster a sense of responsibility and
empathy, qualities essential for effective brand managers in the
21st century.
Objectives ● Educational Insight: Delve into the intricacies of
how a conservation center has successfully built
and maintained its brand identity and explore the
intersectionality of messaging, imagery, and
community engagement in promoting a
conservation brand.

● Networking: Connect with professionals from the

conservation and branding sectors to understand
collaborative opportunities and facilitate
interactions that broaden the students'
understanding of diverse perspectives in
sustainable brand management.

● Service Learning: Participate in hands-on activities

that contribute directly to the conservation efforts
of the center and gain insights into the role of
corporate social responsibility in building a brand's
credibility and loyalty.
