(A) Rate of Discount

1. For Foreign and Indian books published in India or abroad during and after the year
2020, the rate of discount will not be less than 25% (for 1-5 books only) and 30%
(for 6 and above).
2. For Foreign and Indian books published in India or abroad during and prior to the
year 2019, the rate of discount will not be less than 30%.
3. For Foreign and Indian multi-volume books/ encyclopedia/ dictionary irrespective
of the year of publication, the rate of discount will not be less than 30%.
4. For Urdu, Punjabi and other regional languages literature books, the rates of
discount will not be less than 30%.
5. Books in CD/DVDs, the rate of discount will not be less than 30%.
6. However, on Govt. and University publications, 3% margin will be allowed to the
vendors/suppliers on net published price (NPP) with the condition that the vender
will transfer the actual discount availed from the publishers minus 3% to the library.
In such a case vendor will submit a copy of the bill issued by such Govt. or
University.
7. For the purchase of less or no discount publications (Centre & State Govt.
Publications, Learned Societies etc.), the Chairpersons/Directors/Principals of
University Teaching Departments/Institutes/Colleges will give proper justification
for such recommendations and these recommendations shall be approved by the
Dean, Academic Affairs.
(B) Terms & Conditions
1. Latest edition of the books shall be supplied and there should not be remainder
titles.
2. Books available in dual currencies shall be billed in the currency by which the
converted cost is lowest in Indian Rupee.
3. The price shall be charged in accordance with Publishers/Distributors/
Importers/Suppliers invoices and Publishers catalogue, in case the price is not
printed on the book.
4. Only Hard bound (except where hard bound is not available paper back/ student
edition will be considered)/Asian Edition/ Low Priced Edition need to be supplied,
if brought out. International Edition shall be supplied only if specifically required.
5. The complete set of multi-volume publications shall be supplied.
6. GST/Taxes where ever applicable will be paid by University as per rule.
7. In case of foreign books, actual Bank Exchange Rates of RBI, Telegraphic Transfer
Rate/Telex Transfer (TT Selling/Tracking) market will be applicable on the date of
billing/invoice. However, if the rates are not reported/ published regularly then the
said Bank Exchange Rates published on earlier dates will be applicable.
8. Books supply period: 45 Days.
