1.0 Scope
1.1 This procedure describes the marking, packaging and shipping requirements for
fabricated items and assemblies.

1.2 Any additional or special customer (end user) requirements with regards shipping
preparation supersede this specification.

2.0 Marking

2.1 All loose items shall be tagged individually. Markings shall be welded, stamped or
painted with indelible ink.

2.2 All fabricated materials shipping directly to the jobsite (end user) shall be properly
identified with a stainless steel tag permanently affixed to the equipment assembly.
The minimum information which shall be contained on the tag is the purchase
order number, the equipment tag number, Client's name and the shipping weight.

3.0 Packaging

3.1 All items shall be suitably protected from damage during shipment and storage at
site.

3.2 Exposed flange faces shall be protected from corrosion by applying suitable grease
and by bolting on wood or steel covers with at least four bolts. Plastic snap-in
protectors are also acceptable.

3.3 All threaded connection shall be protected by metal plugs or caps of compatible
material.

3.4 All loose shipped items shall be crated/palletized, banded (carbon steel banding is
prohibited) and wrapped in visqueen to prevent any water damage.

3.5 All temporary supports or bracing shall be painted yellow to denote removal before
erection or operation.

4.0 Shipping

4.1 A detailed packing list must be provided and sent to Client prior to release for
shipment. A copy must also accompany the material during shipment.

4.2 Any long term storage requirements shall be specified to Client prior to
shipment.

4.3 A signed shipping release must be provided by Client prior to the shipment of
any material.
