RAMADAN
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, is one of the most sacred times
for Muslims. It is the month in which it is believed that the Holy Qur'an was sent
down from heaven "as a guidance for men and women, a declaration of direction,
and a means of salvation."

During this month, Muslims observe a strict fast from dawn until sunset. They are
not allowed to eat or drink (even water) during daylight hours. Fasting is a private
act of worship bringing about nearness to God, as well as a form of spiritual
discipline and a means to empathize with those less fortunate. The fast is broken
at the end of the day with prayer and a festive meal called an iftar. It is customary
to visit family and friends following the iftar.

During Ramadan, many Muslims go to the mosque and spend several hours
praying. In addition to the five daily prayers that are part of the core of Islam,
Muslims recite a special prayer called the Tarawih prayer (night prayer).

On the last 10 nights of Ramadan, Muslims observe a special night called Layat al-
Qadr, sometimes referred to as the Night of Power. It is believed that Prophet
Muhammad ‫ ﷺ‬first received the Holy Qur'an on this night.
At the end of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr celebrates the breaking of the fast. Friends and
families gather for festive meals and exchange gifts. Special gifts are also given to
the poor.

‫ﺑﺴﻢ اﻟﻠﻪ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﺮﺣﻴﻢ‬
Prepare yourself for Ramadan
ٰ
As we all know, the blessed ِ‫ ْٱﻟﺤَ ْﻤ ُﺪ ﻟِﻠﱠﻪ‬month is approaching us . And we need to
take some steps to prepare ourselves mentally and physically for Ramadan even if
its just baby steps. So here are few tips that you can insha'Allah add in your list and
can also start doing these deeds right now as it'll help your body and mind to get
prepared insha'Allah for Ramadan

and can also start doing these deeds right now as it'll help your body and mind to
get prepared for Ramadan.

Make sure you sure you also make the intention of doing the sunnah as the
companions of Prophet Muhammad ‫ ﷺ‬used to start preparing themselves for
Ramadan 4 months before! We are late but better late than never.

1. Start performing the night prayers (Tahajjud + witr); it'll help your body get used
to it and you'll find ease when praying the night prayers in Ramadan!

2. Perform Sunnah prayers regularly. As we all know, every deed done in Ramadan
is of immense virtue and the reward of good deeds are multipled so, its best to do
as many good deeds as you can and performing Sunnah prayers.

3. Start saving some money up so that you can donate it to charity when Ramadan
approaches.

4. Find courses. There are alot of free courses available online that teach arabic,
Qur'an tafseer, Hadith tafseer, etc. If you can't find any, check youtube. And when
you find them, save it so that.

5. Memorizing Surahs. Start from the last chapter if it suits you but try. Try to
learn some surahs (you can learn some right now and some in Ramadan).

6. Get Miswak. Using Miswak is a sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ‫ ﷺ‬so imagine

the rewards if we use it in the month of Ramadan

@piousdeenn
7. Morning and Evening adkhaar. A very very important act of ibadah. Make this
your habit. Work on it right now (it literally takes maximum 30 mins). If you want
the adkhaar, download the app'hisn Almuslim' the icon is red-maroon color. The
app is super beneficial.

8. Cut down your bad habits. Your bad habits like sleeping late, spending too much
time on social media, wasting hours on movies and tv shows, listening to music etc.
Cut them down and try your best to delete them in your life specially since
Ramadan is coming.

9. Show Allah that you're sincere. Constantly remember Allah, do things and plan
things sincerely because sincerity is also an important thing in a good deed.

10. Forgive those who have wronged you. Forgiving others is really hard but Allah
does forgive us so oftenly. We sin so much that sometimes we can't even forgive
ourselves or sometimes we are so embarrassed to even face Allah in prayer but
Allah still doesn't abandon us.
He still forgives us again and again. So who are we to not forgive others and have
ego. Forgiving others is sunnah too so keep your ego aside and forgive the souls
that wronged you so that you can also gain the Mercy and Pleasure of Allah.

11. Start taking a nap during the day. Its very important to get enough sleep and to
pray the night prayers as well so a nap during the day will help you achieve both!

May Allah make us witness Ramadan in a state of good health

and strong faith and help us to be among the smart ones who
do their best to gain maximum rewards. Ameen

1. Not faFting becauFe of wo@k o@ examF

2. Getting ang@y

3. FaFting without p@aye@

4. Sleeping all day

5. WaFting time

6. Bad language

K. MiFFing the golden chance of

@piousdeenn
WHY RAMADAN IS
IMPORTANT?
The Quran was revealed in this month

It is a month of Blessing, Mercy and Forgiveness

The doors of heaven are opened

The doors of hell are closed

The shaytaan is chained up

Rewards are multiplied from 10-700 times

There is one night (laylatul-qadr) that is better than 1000 months

@piousdeenn
Tips on how to better
yourself in Ramadan
Renew intentions & make Dua
Everyday is a new day meaning a new opportunity to become better. what better
1 month than Ramadan to remove any bad habits & to form beneficial ones. Make
dua Allah grants you sustenance & ease, if you find your self slipping renew your
intentions.
Self reflection
2 Evaluate your intentions, actions & words every night this will allow you to
maintain your good habits and keep you on track! Not only will it allow you to see
where you are it will let you know the progress that’s yet to be made.

Embrace your companionship

3
What better way to spend Ramadan then spending it with your friends. Sharing
your new formed habits, praying together, reading Qur’an and engaging in forms
of ibadah. Not only will this increase your emaan but deepen your companionship.

Don’t be harsh on your self

4 The beauty of Islam is the forgiveness of Allah (SWT) if you have slipped away
and made an error seek forgiveness with sincerity and surely Allah will forgive.
But make all means to retract and stay firm to prevent any distractions.

Work your way up

5 If you started reading a certain amount of Qur’an and did a limited amount of Dhikr. Try
slowly increasing it as the days go by, remember that not everyone gets the chance to
witness the blessed month, make the most of it and do the very best you can!

Maintain a good routine

6 When you have your days set out and planned throughout Ramadan it will allow
you to stay one step ahead. It will increase your determination to complete all
your task for the day and maintain a good balance.

Don’t let procrastination take control

7
It’s easy to slowly drift away and our emaan to fluctuate but remind your self the
blessings of this month and that the gates of paradise are literally open for us!
engage your self always and maintain focus.

@piousdeenn
Give gratitude to Allah
8 Dedicate some time to thank (‫ ﷲ )ﷻ‬or the blessings He has bestowed upon us.
Whether it’s in sujood or with Duā be gracious that ‫ ﷲ‬allowed you to witness
another Ramadan and this will surely increase you in emaan.

I hope this benefits many of you guys Insha’Allah, Let us make the most of this
blessed month. May Allah keep us all steadfast and allow us to maximise our
efforts this Ramadan and allows us to witness the many ramadans to come!

Fill some of your habits that you think need to change to be

better or even delete your bad habits. May Allah make it easier
for you. Ameen.

Menstruation during ramadan?
Few things sisters can do
1. Make Your Intention
In every way that you help your family: making Suhoor, preparing Iftar, cleaning their
clothes, helping with homework, everything you do, make the intention that it's for the
sake of Allah.
2. Listen to Qur'an recitation
Listening to recitation is the perfume of the souls, the calmer of hearts, and the food
of the spirit.
3. Read the tafseer of the Qur'an
To reflect upon the Ayah of Allah is a form of worship; it is something that will draw
one close to Allah, Most High.

4. Dhikr of Allah
A women on her menses can do excessive dhikr night and day. We will all have utter
regret for each second wasted without remembering Allah.
5. Dua & Repentance
A women in her menses can make excessive Dua to Allah night and day.

6. Learning Islamic knowledge

A women in her menses can learn Islamic knowledge as much as she can through
books, online, teachers etc

"Allah will exalt those who believe among you, and those who have been
granted knowledge to high ranks." (Qur'an 58:11)

Therefore a women on her menses must never feel that she is not able to
gain good deeds, blessings and reward just because she is on her menses.

There is NOTHING stopping her from gaining IMMENSE rewards

Three hours not to be missed
during Ramadan
First Hour
Hour before breaking your fast: Prepare your meal early and dedicate this
time for dua because the supplication of a fasting person before he breaks
his fast is never rejected. Pray for yourself, your loved ones and the whole
Ummah
Second Hour
Hour in the last third of the night: This next hour is around the last third of
the night. Dedicate this time with plenty of dua a seeking forgiveness as it's a
time when
Allah descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the first
part of the night is over and says: I am the Lord; I am the Lord: who is there
to supplicate Me so that I answer him? Who is there to beg of Me so that I
grant him? Who is there to beg forgiveness from Me so that I forgive him?
Sahih Muslim 758 b
Third hour
The hour between Asr & Maghrib on a Friday:
The Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬said: "Friday is twelve hours in which there is no Muslim
slave who asks Allah swt for something but He will give it to him, so seek it
in the last hour after 'Asr." Sunan an-Nasa'i 1389

Ramadan and Quran
Since Ramadan is approaching it is extremely important for us to
understand that Qur'an holds alot of importance specially in
Ramadan. The companions used to finish the Qur'an in Ramadan for
so many times! The Prophet Muhammad ‫ ﷺ‬used to study the Qur'an
with Angel Jibrael (als) every night in Ramadan.

And the rewards of reading only a letter from the Qur'an are immense!
So, focus on Qur'an this Ramadan. Read it with beautiful voice, read it
slowly, and ponder upon its meanings as well. Learn small surahs
every night, listen to those surahs while doing work and you'll
eventually learn those surahs in no time!

Read its tafseer, understand the word of Allah. Don't waste your time
in watching serials/movies/ Netflix/ playing games/ scrolling through
social medias. Spend it wisely. Maybe this Ramadan is your last
Ramadan and Allah knows, maybe Allah opens your heart and guides
you to the pathway of jannah when He sees the sincerity and
hardwork you put into learning and understanding His Words.

Recitation of Quran in Ramadan
Blessings, blessings and more blessings in the month of Ramadan,
this is what we shall get when we offer obligatory deeds and good
deeds during the month. Recitation of Quran in Ramadan is one such
deed that brings about the pleasure of Allah because Allah sees that
his creation is not only reading His words but also understanding
them without the interruption and barrier of the shaytaan, which is
locked up during the month. The Recitation of the Quran in Ramadan
has special importance because it is during this month that it was
revealed to the Prophet (PBUH) and became a source of complete
guidance for us
So we must imagine the month of Ramadan as a jackpot for us
Muslims, the believers of Allah because Allah has promised that the
reward for doing good in this month is utmost, so much so that it gives
the believer a completely clean slate, erases all his sins and gives him
an opportunity to start over. So why would we not want to take that?
Why would we want to believe that our sins are past hope? We would
certainly not!
Allah blesses the one who recites the Quran, infact there is a reward
for every letter that is uttered out of the mouth of the believer of Islam
and the Quran. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, about the recitation of
the Quran, “Whoever draws near to Allah during it (Ramadan) with a
single characteristic from the characteristics of (voluntary) goodness,
he is like whoever performs an obligatory act in other times. And
whoever performs an obligatory act during it, he is like whoever
performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.” (Sahih Ibn
Khuzaymah, no. 1887)

@piousdeenn
Recitation of Quran in Ramadan
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said about the person who struggles:
“Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and
precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels.
And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or
stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Reading the Quran during Ramadan brings about a great sense of

responsibility towards Allah which we do not realize at other times. As
we delve deeper into the words of Allah we realize that the Quran is a
constant reminder that we must act according to the commandments
of Allah, not do sin, backbite, tell lies, especially during this month as
we seek to guard our fasts. And what better way to do that than to
spend your fast in the remembrance of Allah and letting the Quran act
as a reminder while you are completely pure and devoid of evil. Allah
says in the Quran: "A Book, which We have revealed to you in order
that its verses may be pondered upon, so that the people of
understanding may be reminded." That is what Allah hopes for
mankind to achieve, a constant reminder of their faith, of the Oneness
of Allah and of the Day of Judgment, all of this is mentioned in the
Quran.

How To complete the Quran in
Ramadan:

The Qur'an has 600 pages approx.. If you divide it on 30 days, that's
20 pages a day. You see, that's difficult to do right? But, if you divide it
on the 5 prayers a day, it gets easier:

If you read 4 pages after every salah in ramadan, then you've

completed the Qur'an.

If you want to complete the Qur'an twice, you read 4 pages before and
after every salah.

May Allah make it to be easier for all of us ameen. Allah

knows your intentions even without you tell anyone about
it, Always keep going and May Allah bless all of us ameen

Laylatul Qadr (The Night of
Decree)
1) When is the Laylatul Qadr?

Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬said, "Search for the Night of

Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan." [Sahih al-
Bukhari 2017]

2) Virtue of Laylatul Qadr

It was the night on which the Quran was sent: "Indeed, it is We Who
sent this (Quran) down on the Night of Glory." (97:1)
This night is better than a thousand months: The "Night of Glory is
better than a thousand months." (97:3)
3) Things to do on Laylatul Qadr:
It is highly recommended to pray abundantly, read Quran, seek
forgiveness, and perform Qiyam. Pray tahajjud, Keep a lot of dhikr,
and make du'a, Give a portion of sadaqah every night (however much
you can afford)
The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬said, “Whoever prays on Laylatul Qadr out of faith
and sincerity, shall have all their past sins forgiven.” [Sahih al-Bukhari
1901]
4. Dua to say on Laylatul Qadr:
Aishah (R.A): "O Messenger of Allah what do you think I should say in
my supplication if I come upon Laylatul Qadr? He (‫ )ﷺ‬said : Say:

Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibb al-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni
O Allah, You are the Most forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive
me. [Sunan Ibn Majah 3850]
