Activity 2 Menstruation
Activity 2 Menstruation
Activity 2 Menstruation
Learning Objectives
1. To describe physical that occur during puberty; e.g., menstruation.
2. To be aware of the various changes happening during the menstrual cycle.
3. To develop positive coping strategies is essential to adolescent development.
For many girls having their period is seen as a sign of growing up and changing
into a young woman. While some girls may see this as a rite of passage, something to
be excited about, others may feel anxious. Students with differing abilities may need
extra time to learn how to take care when menstruating. Often girls will have their first
period and then not have another period for a few months. This can be challenging as
these students will have to relearn how to manage. Learning how to cope with
menstruation is a skill just like other hygiene routines.
A. Interpreting A Diagram Look at the diagram. For each sentence below it,
write the matching letter from the diagram in the box.

2. Approximately how long does it take the uterus lining to build up again after
menstruation?
3. Why is it necessary to build up the uterus lining every month, again and again?
4. Why do you think it is a good thing that a woman’s menstrual cycle stops around the
ages of 45-55 (called menopause) and she can no longer produce?
