PAST SIMPLE

regular verbs

ADD -ED
We add -ed at the end of most verbs.
play played

ADD -D
When the verb ends in "e" add only -d.
dance danced

ADD -IED
Change the "y" for "i" and add -ed to the
verbs that end in a consonant + "y"
study studied

DOUBLE CONSONANT ED
When a one-syllable verb ends in
consonant + vowel + consonant

double the last consonant and add -ed.
