Multiple Prefixes

Select the Multiple Prefixes category from the index. Looking at the viewing
portion of the screen there is a spot where you can load in several prefixes and then
add or remove them as required. You can also choose the sort method by part
number, hose type, occurrences, or prefix number.
Unit 6 13 Caterpillar Communications
Lesson 1

Multiple Prefixes

Prefix numbers 42X and 49Z have been entered. Each time you put a prefix in the
box click on the add button and then add the next number. When you have the
prefixes loaded, select the search button and the system will bring up a listing of all
the hoses used on the machines entered. The hoses are sorted by both part number
and serial number prefix.

On the left side of the screen the part numbers are listed. From this listing you can
take the part number and break it down by clicking on the tabs at the top of the
listing or take the number and return to the search / consist category previously
used. You are also able to select a single prefix and do the same breakdowns.
