Question

This is part of an email you have received from an English-speaking friend, who will be visiting
your home town for a short stay:

What a pity you won't be around when we arrive. Anyway, we'll only be there for one day
and I was wondering whether you could recommend a couple of local restaurants.
Something that caters for families would be great ... we eat anything!

Hi James,

It’s great to hear from you! I’m so sorry I won’t be able to be here when you arrive. I really
have to go to that meeting I told you. I wish I could see you and your family, but I’m sure you
will spend a great time here in Madrid!

I would probably go for the 'La Fornia'. I´ve just been there last week. They’ve got a huge
terrace and a little playground outside. Your kids would be happy to play there after eating
some delicious food. The restaurant is famous for cooking extravagant and well-balanced
seasonal dishes, but they serve whatever you want. Of course they’ve got some extra kids-
menus. I really love the cheerful and elegant staff and the tasty and fresh food always makes
me satisfied. The only drawback are the prices. They are a bit high, but I’d say it’s worth.

The other great recommendation I want to give you is the 'Akela' restaurant. It’s kind of a fast
food restaurant but slightly different. They don’t sell burgers, but they are specialised in
all kind of sausages, salads and pasta. Your kids will love it! They also have some special offers
for families available and the food is superb. I highly recommend the avocado-mint-salad.
