B. Laboratory (10 points)

Pick one of the commonly used techniques in Biochemistry then briefly discuss in 5

sentences how it can be important to healthcare.

Answer: One of the commonly used techniques that in Biochemistry that I discovered is

the Immunological techniques in Medical Biochemistry. Immunological techniques are

used to study the immune systems and methods to generate immunological reagents as

experimental tools. Some of these are the immunofluorescence assay and enzyme-linked

assay. They are relevantly used in the health care system because they help detect

human viral infections in clinical samples as well as the presence of antibodies to a

pathogen. It is important to know this information because our immune system plays a

vital role in protecting our body from harmful substances and germs that could make us

sick and this gives us the knowledge on how to make our immune system strong and

healthy.
