The Mursi tribe lives in the Omo Valley in Ethiopia and numbers around 4,000 people. They are nomadic herders who have faced threats to their livelihood from extreme drought that has made feeding themselves through cultivation and cattle herding more difficult. Additionally, parks with fences and roads have reduced their living space and access to natural resources needed for survival, putting the continued existence of the Mursi tribe at risk.

The Mursi tribe lives in the Omo Valley, situated in
Africa’s Great Rift Valley in south-west Ethiopia. The Mursi, who number about 4,000, are a nomadic tribe of herdsmen who over the past few decades have encountered growing threats to their livelihood. Extreme drought has made it more and more difficult for many Mursi families to feed themselves by means of their traditional activities, such as cultivation (growing cattle) and cattle herding. Furthermore, big varieties of parks with fences and roads caused a shortage of place for living local tribes and threatened their natural resources for survival. In my opinion, in the near future, they may become extinct completely, due to difficult weather conditions and lack of resources for survival.
