Running Central Issuance 6.

0 on Windows 7
Datacard Central Issuance 6.0 requires the Windows 7 operating system. Please
note the following differences between running the controller software on
Windows 7 and running earlier versions of the software, which required
Windows XP.

Installation
• When installing CIS 6.0, the System Simulator, or the DB2 Database, you must
run the setup as Administrator. One way is to right-click on the setup.exe file
and select Run as Administrator from the menu.

• When the PC is powered on initially, you can choose between the following
users: Maxsys or Administrator. Select Administrator for the installation.

General
• Do not create or write files (such as trace, archive, VPD backups) to the root
level of the C: directory.

• Windows 7 does not allow adding the CI icon to the taskbar automatically
during installation of CIS. After installation, the application can be pinned to
the taskbar if desired.

• By default, Windows User Account Control is set to Always Notify whenever

a program or operator tries to make changes to the computer that require
administrator-level permissions. This setting can be changed in the Windows
User Account Control Settings.
• ImageGen scaled image results are different in Windows 7. For example, a
300x300 pixel image is scaled to 300x225 pixels. If you are using ImageGen,
please verify that the images are scaled appropriately.
