A CLEAR PATH TO PROFITABLE FLORAL PRICING

BY THE FLORAL GURU

Pricing
DOESN'T HAVE TO BE AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER
If you've ever felt a twinge of panic when it's time to price your floral designs, you're in the
right place.

I've crafted this guide with one aim in mind: to simplify pricing for you with a fail-proof
process.

Why? Because when pricing becomes a math problem, all those emotional hurdles start to
fade away.

Pricing Without the Drama: It's Possible!

But before we can solve the problem, we have to understand the root cause - Here's what
typically trips us up when it comes to pricing:

1. Confusion Over Counts: How many flowers do you really need for that centerpiece?
Estimating can be tricky, and miscalculations can eat into your profits.
2. The Fear of Overcharging: Nobody wants to be seen as too expensive or out of reach,
especially when we care so much about bringing joy through our work.
3. The Rush Factor: In the fast-paced world of events, we often feel pressured to get
proposals out quickly, leading to rushed, and sometimes less-than-ideal, pricing decisions.

This is where a solid, math-based pricing process comes into play. It helps strip away the
emotional weight we attach to our work and turns pricing into a clear, straightforward task.

Your Guide to Pricing Confidence

As the founder of The Floral Guru, I've navigated these very challenges and have come out on
the other side with strategies that work.

My goal is to share these insights with you, eliminating the confusion and helping you build a
business that's not only creatively fulfilling but also financially sustainable. This free guide is
your first step toward that goal.

In these pages, you'll find a practical, process-driven approach to pricing your floral designs.
I'll walk you through each step, ensuring you have the tools to price confidently, cover your
costs, and yes, make a profit. Let's turn pricing from a dreaded task into a seamless part of
your workflow, setting the foundation for a thriving floral business.

Step 1

HOW I DETERMINE FLOWER

COUNTS IN 7 MINS OR LESS
Wondering how to get your flower counts right?

The fastest approach is my "BFC Method" – it stands for Buy Floral Counts.

Instead of making guesses on your own, you can rely on the expertise of
others who have created a similar design already.

Spending money on accurate flower counts is an investment in accurate

pricing.

Plus, over time, you'll collect your own set of flower counts to use as a
reference.
Step 2

THE “NEVER GUESS AGAIN”

PRICING FORMULA
Once you have your counts, the next step is just math!

Floral Cost to Client = Wholesale fresh flower cost x 4

Labor & Delivery = 35% added to the total bill

Example: If a design requires 100 roses with $1.00 wholesale price

Floral Cost to Client = $1.00 x 4 =$400
Labor & Delivery = 35% = $140

I’ve tried tons of pricing formulas and this is the easiest! You should be
able to pay yourself, your staff and cover all expenses using this formula.

THIS STEP PUTS PRICING

ON AUTOPILOT
If you often feel pressured to get proposals out quickly, leading to
rushed, and sometimes less-than-ideal, pricing decisions. This step is
going to be a game changer.

The secret to keeping your pricing steady, especially if numbers aren't

your thing, is to make a PDF with prices for all your standard services
once a year (P.S. Check out an example on the following page).

This allows you to have starting price points for 95% of your work and
quickly respond to inquires.
