Bullying is when people repeatedly and intentionally use words or
actions against someone or a group of people to cause distress
and risk to their well being. Bullying can also be the cause of a student to be absent minded that will affect his or her academic performance which will lead to more problems.
There are four main types of bullying, first is Physical bullying, it
Includes hitting, kicking, shoving, spitting, beating up, stealing or damaging property. Second is, Verbal bullying it is when someone uses words to hurt, harass, or scare another person. Verbal bullying leaves targets feeling ashamed, humiliated, or even afraid. Examples are, teasing, name calling, insulting, and threatening. Following is Indirect bullying; this happens when stories or rumors about a person are spread around and excluding others from the group. Last is Cyber Bullying, this type of bullying happens online or through text messages or emails, an example is when an account on social media called you out with an insult.
If you are being targeted by a bully, consult a teacher or the guidance
counselor about this issue, to help you and to help those who we call "bullies". But why do bullies bully? There are different reasons why people do this kind of things, including: wanting to dominate others and improve their social status. having low self-esteem and wanting to feel better about themselves. having a lack of remorse or failing to recognize their behavior as a problem.
Sometimes we turn a blind eye to this kind of situation especially
when the bully is our friend or we are the bully ourselves, but thinking about it carefully bullying only results to further mental health issues and we are only pushing ourselves and others to the verge of danger. It is not too late to change for the better version of us and stop putting others health into risks. Thank you.
