MUSIC
MUSIC OF CLASSICAL PERIOD
- The classical era, also called “Age of Reason”, is the period from 1750-1820. The cultural
life was dominated by the aristocracy, as patrons of musicians and artists who generally
influenced the arts. Significant changes in musical forms and styles were made.
- Opera is a drama that is set to music where singers and musicians perform in a theatrical
setting.
- Homophonic is the general texture of Classical music.
- Symphony is a musical composition designed to be played by the full orchestra.
- Sonata Allegro is the most important form that was developed during the Classical Era
and usually the form of the first movement of a sonata or symphony.
- Concerto is a musical work with different movements for an instrumental soloist and
orchestra.
COMPOSERS AND COMPOSITIONS
- Ludwig Van Beethoven is the composer of Moonlight Sonata and Fur Elise. Despite
becoming deaf, he continued composing with the help of his assistant and hearing gadget.
- Franz Joseph Haydn is the composer of Surprise Symphony. He was known for his 100
symphonies and developed them into long form of orchestra and because of this he was
known as the “Father of Symphony”. One of the most prominent composers of the
classical period. His life is described as a "rags-to-riches" story.
- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is the composer Marriage of Figaro and Eine Kleine
Nachtmusik. He was a child prodigy and the most amazing genius in musical history.

ARTS
ARTS OF RENAISSANCE PERIOD
- Renaissance is a word translating to rebirth which was marked by revival of classical
learning and wisdom.
- The type of artwork from the Renaissance period which was characterized by its
symmetry and balance is called a "Renaissance painting", which typically features a
balanced composition, with figures arranged in a symmetrical or harmonious way.
- Baroque pearl is a pearl that is irregularly or oddly shaped.
- The Baroque is a highly ornate and elaborate style of architecture, art and design that
flourished in Europe in the 17th and first half of the 18th century. Originating in Italy, its
influence quickly spread across Europe, and it became the first visual style to have a
significant worldwide impact.
- Leonardo Da Vinci is best known as the master painter and epitomized the term
“Renaissance Man”.
- The Last Supper is one of the most famous and reproduced religious paintings of all
times that represents the last dinner between Christ and His apostles.
- Together with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael forms the traditional trinity
of great masters of that period. He was enormously productive, running an unusually large
workshop; despite his death at 30, a large body of his work remains among the most
famous of High Renaissance art.
- The School of Athens (Italian: Scuola di Atene) is a fresco by the Italian
Renaissance artist Raphael. The fresco was painted between 1509 and 1511 as a part of
Raphael's commission to decorate the rooms now known as the Stanze di Raffaello, in
the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican.

- Peter Paul Rubens was a Flemish Baroque painter and was well known for his paintings of
mythical and figurative subjects, landscapes, portraits, and Counter- Reformation
altarpieces.
- Rembrandt’s famous artwork is the Self-portrait in Old Age.

SOCIAL DANCE
- Social Dance is a term used to refer to dances primarily intended to get to know other
people in a certain formal or semi-formal occasion.
- The basic formations in the traditional waltz are all danced in the closed position. These
steps from the original incarnation of the Viennese Waltz.
- Modern Ballroom is the term used to describe a collective of
dances: Modern Waltz, Quickstep, Slow Foxtrot, Tango, and Viennese Waltz. These five
dances are internationally recognized as the Modern Ballroom, or Standard dances for the
purpose of competition and teaching diplomas.
- Salsa, Bachata, Tango, Cha Cha, and Rumba are all popular Latin American dance styles.
- The appropriate attire for males in modern standard dance It is coat and tie. The dress

tie " dress code: a full dress for women and a bow tie and a men's tailcoat.
- Originating from Cuba in the 1930s, The Mambo Dance is enjoyed throughout the world
at both the social and competitive dance levels. The mambo is a favorite of ballroom
audiences because of its high energy level and infectious rhythms.
- Tango is a partner dance and social dance that originated in the 1880s along the Río de la
Plata, the natural border between Argentina and Uruguay.

CLASSIFICATIONS OF DRUG ABUSE
- Drug abuse is when a drug is used for a different purpose than intended, or in excessive
amounts.
- Stimulant is a kind of drugs that can make a person feel more awake, alert, confident, or
energetic.
For example:
- Nicotine
- Cocaine
- Caffeine
- Depressant
- Slows down a person’s central nervous system (brain, spinal cord, nerves). Doctors
commonly prescribe depressants to help people who have anger management issues,
stressed, or tensed and make patients feel sleepy and lightheaded.
- Inhalants
- A chemical that gives off fumes that affects the brain and nerves. Drugs or chemicals
which are in vapor form inhaled in the body.
- Hallucinogens
- Drugs that distort perceptions and can cause a person to see or hear that are not real. May
also produce extreme anxiety, fear, paranoia, distortion.
- Narcotics are also called opioid pain relievers. They are only used for pain that is severe
and is not helped by other types of painkillers. When used carefully and under a health
care provider's direct care, these drugs can be effective and safe at reducing pain.

- Types of Gateway Drugs
There are three main gateway drugs: alcohol, nicotine, and marijuana. Alcohol. There is the most
evidence to suggest that alcohol is a gateway drug.
