Contaminated water

The water pollution crisis exerts social and economic pressure in all parts of the
world, which has been aggravated by frequent waves of drought, and therefore
insufficient water, as well as by floods, and therefore excess water. To this
recurring wave of droughts and floods we must add that water pollution is also due
to poor wastewater management, insufficient investment, unfair water
allocation/concession, rampant deforestation and a huge population explosion. The
management of the quality of both groundwater and surface water will have to be
integrated with the management of the quantity of water; this as part of the
implementation of IWRM as well as in the planning and management frameworks
at the local, national and cross-border levels. Therefore, this focal area aims to
improve understanding and knowledge of the quality of global water resources for
human well-being, as well as institute water pollution licensing and compliance
systems for sustainability, in order to address the problems of water quality and
pollution.

Causes:
1-Deforestation.
2-Global warming.
3-Industrial, agricultural and livestock activities.
4-Garbage and sewage discharges.
5-Maritime traffic.
6-Fuel spill.
Effects:
1-Destruction of biodiversity.
2-Food chain contamination.
3-Shortages of drinking water.
4-Diseases.
5-Child mortality.
6-Extinction of marine species.
Predictions for the year 2040:
1-There will be no clean water.
2-The price of water will rise.
3-There will be diseases due to pollution.
4-People will die for various reasons.
5-Marine species will die and become extinct.
6-Marine flora will die.
7-There will be water shortages.
8-There will be droughts and the water will run out.
