It is said that the history of the Caribbean is a history of the exploitation of labor.
This essay will be focusing on how two systems of production, slavery and the
encomienda system, gives rise to the exploitation of labor of the indigenous people.
A system of production refers to the ways an economy is organized to produce
commodities to sustain society. This was used as a result of the migration of the
Europeans when they came to central america for numerous reasons.
