Statement of Purpose

” Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of
all, love what you are doing or learning to do.” This is the famous remark made by the greatest
football player of all time, Pele also known as the black pearl. Myself ……………. truly believe that
to achieve anything in life it requires faith, belief, vision, hard work, determination and
dedication. I think I have acquired these things within me. In this competitive world I will work
hard with full of enthusiasm, dedication and determination towards my study and work. I am
persistent on what I say and believe.

Regarding to my identity, I ………. permanent resident of ……… holding passport no: ……….
student of the undergraduate program in science stream. I am writing to express my keen
interest in pursuing a Bachelor in Information Technology at University of South Dakota. With a
strong passion for information technology and a desire to contribute to the evolving field of
information studies, I am eager to enhance my knowledge and skills in this field to make a
meaningful impact on organizations and nations and I believe that University of South Dakota
program aligns perfectly with my academic and professional goals. It’s a matter of immense
pleasure to express my conviction concern to my past, present and upcoming future career and
study plan. It’s a delicate phase in my life, a phase during which I ought to make perfect
academic decisions that will me to creep into my cherished dream. Through my continual
research, I figured out that University of South Dakota is the most appropriate choice for me to
complete my Bachelor in IT.

Concerning about my academic background, I successively completed SEE (Secondary Education

Examination) from Cambridge English Boarding School with 3.80 GPA. I was a student who was
never complained by teachers regarding my assignments and studies. After completion of my
SEE I joined Capital College and Research Centre (Capital Secondary School) which is one of the
reputed colleges of Nepal. So, I choose Science stream for my future studies. I graduated my
10+2 from Capital Secondary School with excellent GPA of 3.28. After graduation from college, I
was confused either to join college in Nepal or start to join PTE (Pearson Test of English) classes.
However, I realize that education of Nepal only tests our memory but it doesn’t test our
intelligence. Then I thought wisely and from my parent’s permission I started joining PTE class
and gave exam on 13th September 2023 and got overall score of 66. I got 62 on reading, 73 on
writing, 74 on listening and 63 on speaking.

This is 21st Century and is the age of science and technology. We completely rely on technology
and computers. With the economic uncertainty of today, a career commitment in any field may
be difficult to maintain over a long period. In today’s era every aspect of development somehow
gets connected with information technology. From baby monitors to cell phones,
supercomputers to guided missiles, and how to turn written text into a language that controls
mechanical hardware Information Technology is used. So, it is a very diverse sector that
encompasses many different jobs and a wide variety of titles. Since, I come to realize that a
small device can perform versatile task with high accuracy, lighting fast speed and diligence it
makes me more and more curious as I grew up. So, I developed strong exuberance in the field of
IT.

In this modern day and age, information technology plays a big role and there is high demand of
IT experts in underdeveloped countries like Nepal. IT technology means the technology which
provides information about the concerned things. In this new generation IT plays a very
important role in each and every country. For the development of country IT technology is very
important and it is the reason behind it. So, country like America, Japan, and China etc. are the
example who are able to develop with the help of this technology. Mainly due to the IT,
between many countries there is being competition for the development of their own. IT has
become backbone for the development of nation. 60% of global internet traffic is covered by
wireless technology yet many remote and rural areas of Nepal are still deprived of wireless
technology. So, I want to return back and work in company like Axiata (multinational networking
company), LIS Nepal, deerlink, , NTC, Cloud Factory etc. and improve rural communication.
Moreover, In Nepalese market IT professionals are highly paid and well respected. It is the most
recognized degree in Nepal. Therefore, I chose information technology for my higher education.

I did intensive research about college and universities of USA before making final decision. It
was tough to choose best of the best college/universities. In USA, colleges are more affordable
as compared to universities. Universities like Harvard University, University of California etc.
required high score in IELTS/TOFEL/PTE and they are too expensive. So, that’s why, I started
searching for college within my financial boundary as well as good education in various
websites, social media, education seminar as well as many other references and consultancies.

While searching I found various college such as Harvard University, University of Arlington,
University of South Dakota etc. among them University of South Dakota is a matching college for
me in all aspect such as fee structure, homely environment, location and its features. The main
objectives of the college attracted me to be part of it. The main objective of the college is to
make student proficient in the skills required for the career. These courses provide the
appropriate competency outcomes and satisfactory basis for assessment and they meet
national assurance requirements. Their trainers are industry-experts who are well-connected to
their fields. They are passionate about creating an inspiring learning environment that
motivates me to excel and succeed in me chosen course. I can easily get the job after pass out
from the college; they not only provide in- depth theoretical concepts, and they also
incorporate practical applications of vocational study. The methods they employ can be applied
immediately in achieving both life and career goals.

The course provided by this college meets the subject of my study along with its location. I came
to know that University of South Dakota linked among the good colleges. I can turn my
experience into a nationally recognized qualification with recognition of prior learning. I can use
my previous formal training, existing skills and work experience in my own country. Therefore, I
preferred University of South Dakota for my higher studies. Living abroad will make us a
different person and it will change us forever in a good way. I choose USA for study to improve
my English skills, experience the American way of life, to become independent, improve my
career chances, create a memory of lifetime, and improve my cultural understanding.

As the birthplace of Microsoft and Apple Inc, earning a degree in Information Technology can
provide diverse experience. USA has the innovation to create systems that have brought the
world
together through a screen. To earn degree or certificate as an international student in Bachelor
in Information Technology. USA has got the top Information Technology schools.

The information technology field is a fast-growing sector in term of career. Society is becoming
more reliant on technology. Information Technology has brought about an extraordinary
change,
as it has completely reshaped the way one look at things. With the hiking competition, rapid
growth in skilled IT experts around the world, it is obvious to acquire appropriate knowledge of
information technology and up-to-date computer system to remain forefront at IT field. This
always encourages me to walk towards the summit of success. Tracing myself, with an
intellectual skills and knowledge in IT infrastructures will help me to seek jobs easily in my own
developing country Nepal, Where the scope of IT is increasing recently. Companies like NTC,
Versik Nepal, Deerwalk, Deerlink, Cloudfactory, F1Soft international, AVIONAT are still search of
better IT professional and I being an international IT graduate with better infield experience will
be a top contender for the job. I myself would be able to create the job opportunities by
establishing an IT firm. The demand for software developer in Nepalese Government offices,
banking sector, industrial sector and other corporate organization has increased rapidly which
boots my confidence to plot a successful career. Moreover, my American achievement will be
valued much more here in Nepal. I would be proud to serve my nation upon gaining the
knowledge and education rather than spending rest of my life in resettling in a new country. I
am committed to my goals and will always focus in achieving my personal and professional
goals.

After my graduation I will definitely return back in my country Nepal because I have to look after
my family. I have my parents, my relatives, friends, culture and tradition; in short, my world is
here. In addition, achieving success in the place where I was born and raised would be winning
a battle for me. So yes, I will be returning back to my country and using my skills in Nepal.
