BEED - 2A. Mr. Cortez

1. Constructivist theory's explanation is in the name itself. Constructivist or construct is a

way to let students construct their own knowledge about a specific topic or idea. It start
from the teacher giving out ideas or topics without context. For example, a teacher
showing how to solve improper fractions, upon doing so and without any explanation at
all the students would try to lool at it and figure out a way on how the teacher was able to
conclude to the answer and by doing so they are constructing their own knowledge on
how to solve improper fractions.
2. Constructivist theory is applicable in teaching math as well as towards other subjects as
well simply because it helps with the student's metacognitive mevelopment. It helps
them develop higher order thinking skills every time they try to figure out and construct
their own ideas upon a topic.
