● Barangay Council of Barangay Cuta, Batangas City, Batangas.

● SK Council of Barangay Cuta, Batangas City, Batangas

VIII. Beneficiaries

● The residents of Cuta Central in Brgy. Cuta, Batangas City, were chosen as
project beneficiaries after the researchers discovered waste disposal issues
there. The citizens of the barangay will be the primary beneficiaries, while the
children or young people of the barangay will come in second. They will
benefit because this initiative will help eliminate garbage and keep their
community clean. Furthermore, those who visit the barangay will find it
visually appealing.

IX. Rationale of the project

Office of the National Service Training Program

● Cuta is a barangay in Batangas province's capital city of Batangas. It has 11

puroks or sitios and has an area of approximately 1.371 km2. The 2020 Census
found 14,071 people living there. This accounted for 4.00% of Batangas City's
entire population. The barangay has 10,260 people.km2 Population Density Brgy.
Cuta is classified as a rural area, and to get to other wards, you could either walk
or take urban public transportation.

Project Home is a project about providing help in promoting love for mother
earth—our "home"—in line with our responsibility for protecting our
environment by keeping homes within the community clean as well as practicing
proper waste segregation. This aims to encourage all residents of the whole
community to take part in protecting the environment through improved waste
management and, thus, lessen waste at home through recycling. This proposes an
effective waste disposal system in order to aid society's rising rate of poor trash or
garbage disposal and ensure the cleanliness of the barangay. The project will be
executed in selected purok/sitio in Brgy. Cuta, Batangas City. The major
problems of the said barangay include improper waste disposal and scattered
garbage by stray cats and dogs. Some other non-residents are also throwing
garbage in areas that are not designated for them. Hence, encouraging the
barangay's residents to practice proper waste management would help the
neighborhood prevent future environmental disasters that are unintentionally
caused by humans and would also create a more appealing barangay. The project's
beneficiaries will learn how to dispose of their waste properly and will be able to
persuade non-residents to do the same and adhere to the barangay’s
implementations.

X. Objectives

The intention of Project Home is to implement proper waste management in the barangay
and sitio within. The project's principal objectives are:
● To improve waste management and encourage all residents to take part in
protecting mother earth by practicing proper waste segregation. Promote
awareness and actions against poor waste handling among citizens.
● To create additional monetary value from recyclable wastes for further
development of the community's litter organization.
● Realize volunteers, empower people, and strengthen community connection.
● Barangay development in the category of visual interest.
● To mitigate waste damage to the environment, people, and animals.
Office of the National Service Training Program

XI. Description of the project

Project Home offers three programs: the Clean Up Drive, proper waste
segregation, and the Recycling Program. In a Clean Up Drive, every young
person is encouraged to participate in cleaning their environment to sustain the
cleanliness in their area and reduce waste by implementing the use of less
material that could add pollution to the environment. Proper waste segregation
will also be done through the distribution of trash bins to improve solid waste
management in the three selected sitios in the barangay.

Lastly, in the recycling program, all the used papers, cans, plastic bottles,
and other recyclable materials will be collected and delivered to recycling
facilities. The money obtained from selling the materials will be collected and
used to buy trash cans that will be distributed in particular areas of the barangay.
This community project, Home, will join forces with barangay officials and the
SK council to gather the participation of the residents, especially the youth of the
said barangay. Volunteers from all areas of the neighborhood may also be
involved in the implementation of the cleaning program. These officials, youths,
and citizens who participated in this project or event only have two main goals.
First, to instill environmental discipline awareness, and second, to implement the
3 R's of reduce, reuse, and recycle, this proposed project requires a letter of
request to have legal access to its implementation in the barangay. A letter of
request will be made and given to the barangay council to ask for permission to
launch this community project in their barangay.

XII. Strategies and methods of implementation

The proposed project: Project HOME will assist society in waste disposal management,
making the community more environmentally friendly, and preparing the community for future
disasters that may strike them. The NSTP-CWTS students will provide effective strategies to
achieve the project's goal in order to be successful. The strategies will be implemented over the
specified period of time and will serve as a guideline for the target community to assess the
progress and success of the project. Specific strategies and methods for project implementation
are provided below to ensure project completion:

● Check that the plans are in line with the project proposal's objectives.
● Create an effective implementation plan.
● Contact the barangay officials first to acquire a letter of permission.
● Assign tasks and responsibilities to the NSTP-CWTS students.
● The NSTP-CWTS students will coordinate with the barangay on how the activity will be
carried out.
● The students will discuss the financial plan based on the estimated costs of the activity.
● The students and the target beneficiaries will work together to achieve the proposed
activity.
● The students will document and record the activity's process to ensure that it complies to
the given period of time.
● After the project is completed, the intended beneficiaries will provide feedback based
on the activity done.

XIV. Financial Plan, Cost of the Project and Proposed Expenditures

● These items are based on the effective waste disposal that needs to be appropriately
distributed to the barangay’s residents. All of these items are budgeted based on how
much money will be accumulated from the researchers’ contribution. Each item is
distributed to the selected sitio or purok of the barangay, given by the barangay
officials. The remaining funds will be used to add the quantity of the items given.
