The SHS students of
Trimex Colleges participate
in Biñan DSPC (Division
Schools Press Conference)
individual category that took
place in December 9-10, 2023
at St. Anthony Integrated
School.
SINAGKAWAN’s last
participation in a competition
was during the DSPC 2021,
the following year however, it
was decided that the team was
not going to be formed due
to the insufficient amount of
members present. In 2023, it
was rebuilt comprising a new
batch of Grade 11 and Grade
12 students from different
strands with the guidance of
Ms. Claire Eunice Concha, Ms.
Des Rojas Garino and Mr. John
Vic Diosos who was a former
member of SINAGKAWAN who
is also currently serving as a
teacher in LSEI (Lake Shore
Educational Institution).
A journalism training
from Mr. Diosos was conducted
on December 1 followed by
another training from Ms.
Garino on December 6 to
prepare the young journalists
for the then upcoming DSPC.
According to Ms. Concha,
these trainings were essential
for honing the writing skills of
the young journalists and for
the reemergence of interest
in journalism among other
students and to +
further promote the
school to the outsiders.
These efforts were
proven to be fruitful when
the young journalists of
SINAGKAWAN, competing
against many other schools
from all over Biñan City, won
multiple awards in DSPC
individual category including a
gold medal, two silver medals,
and two bronze medals at
the satisfaction of teachers,
faculty higher-ups, and fellow
students.

On March 14, 2023 (School
Year 2022-2023), an election was
held within the school grounds
of Trimex Colleges SHS branch,
all of this to determine the new
batch of Grade 12 students who
will be the new SSC officers for
S.Y. 23-24.
The newly elected officers
are then given the responsibility
of handling, managing,
development, and execution of
programs, projects, and activities
that might help improve the
quality of experience for all the
other students, all within the
rules set by the school faculty of
course.
As of the time of writing
however, aside from helping with
the management of the Teacher’s
Day event of October 5, 2023,
there hasn’t been any meaningful
improvements made by the SSC to
ensure the needs of all the

part of schools are the classroom,
it is where the learning happens,
so how detrimental would it be if
there weren’t enough rooms for
the students to learn in. That’s
exactly what the SHS students
of Trimex Colleges are currently
experiencing.
Many dissatisfactions from
students and teachers were heard
as the complications of scheduling
heightens within the Grade 11
and 12 students sharing the same
classrooms.

the eye of the beholder”
people will tend to judge
and discriminate against
others to the point of even
questioning their existence.
But no matter how harsh
the world can be, they will
stand strong and fight
against their fate.
Jhayj Espiritu is a
Grade 12 student in Trimex
Colleges under the HUMSS
strand who was chosen to
represent the Senior High
School Department in the
Mardi Gras Competition
last November 18, 2023.
Although he was not able to
guarantee the championship
title, he knew at that moment
that it was just the beginning
of a new path for him.

Friendship, however, is not

Jose “BOY” Bermundo Jr.

pure hard work and com-

taught them how to stand on

at us, we should always re-
member that there will al-
ways be someone by our side.
