Speaker 1: Introduction

Hello everybody,

Today my friend and I are going to delve into the fascinating world of fashion. Fashion not
only reflects culture, but is also a key part of human history. We will give you a brief history
of fashion, how it has evolved and how it has influenced our lives over the centuries.

Speaker 2: Ancient Fashion and the Middle Ages

Let's start with the earliest times. In ancient civilisations such as Ancient Egypt and Greece,
clothing played an important role in determining a person's social status. However, it was
during the Middle Ages that fashion began to take shape.

Speaker 1: Renaissance and Baroque

The Renaissance era revolutionised the perception of fashion. Moving away from the strict
styles of the Middle Ages, Renaissance art inspired designers to create more colourful and
elaborate clothing.

Speaker 2: The Industrial Revolution and Fashion

With the Industrial Revolution, fashion became more accessible for mass production. This
led to the emergence of brands and the standardisation of styles.

Speaker 1: The twentieth century and modernism

The 20th century brought significant changes to the world of fashion. Modernism, centred
on simplicity and functionality, left its mark.

Speaker 2: The era of rock and roll and hippies

The period from the 1950s to the 1970s was characterised by the rock and roll era and the
development of the hippie movement. Fashion during this period became a means of
expressing individuality and protest.

Speaker 1: Modern Fashion and the Future

Today fashion is a global phenomenon, rapidly changing and fascinating us with its diversity.
Modern fashion of course emphasises sustainability, but the best solution is to find your own
style. Style is about self-expression and buying things for long-term wear, not for the season
when they are on trend.

So we encourage you to arrive at exactly what your style is by watching two short videos
that will help you take a step in that direction.
Speaker 2: Conclusion

In conclusion, I'd like to emphasise that style is more important than fashion. Your style is
your personality, your individuality, and it stays with you much longer than fashion trends.
Fashion may bring short-lived joy, but style is what makes you unique and memorable.
Instead of following every fashion wave, develop your own style that will remain relevant
over time. Don't be afraid to be yourself, as your style is your signature in the world.
