Mathematics Advanced Assignment 2024
Mathematics Advanced Assignment 2024
Mathematics Advanced Assignment 2024
Weighting: 25%
The combined mark for the assignment and the validation task will contribute 25% of
the final assessment for Year 11 Mathematics Advanced.
The assignment needs to be submitted as a pdf into the HGHS Maths Adv Google
Classroom before 8:45 am. Aim to submit by 8:15 am to give yourself some time for
computer issues. Make sure that you submit the assignment rather than attaching it as a
comment.
A pen and paper validation task will be held at the beginning of the Maths period
on the day of submission. The validation task will be based on the same knowledge
and skills covered in the assignment. The assignment has a technology focus. The
validation task will require students to sketch and solve problems by hand.
Time Allowed: The Mathematics Advanced validation task will have a duration of 30 minutes.
Learning Intention: To learn how to use technology to graph functions and relations and enable students to
sketch functions and relations by hand and to investigate and provide reasoning to support conclusions.
Success Criteria: To be able to use technology to graph functions and be able to sketch functions by hand.
Outcomes:
Mathematics Advanced:
MA11-1 uses algebraic and graphical techniques to solve, and where appropriate, compare alternative
solutions to problems.
MA11-8 uses appropriate technology to investigate, organise, model and interpret information in a range of
contexts.
MA11-9 provides reasoning to support conclusions which are appropriate to the context.
