Date of Issue: Period 3, Monday, March 11, Week 7, 2024.

Format: Assignment and Validation Task (30 minutes)

Weighting: 25%
The combined mark for the assignment and the validation task will contribute 25% of
the final assessment for Year 11 Mathematics Advanced.

Assessment 1 2024 - Assignment

General Instructions Total Marks

This assignment involves technology and written sections that
must be completed. Students should collate their answers in a
word document on computer. Collating your answers as a Google Assignment 45 marks
doc causes problems when submitting, therefore, collate in a word
document and convert to a pdf. Submit into the HGHS Maths Validation Task 30 marks
Advanced Google Classroom before 8:45am on Tuesday, April 2.
Aim to submit by 8:15am to give yourself some time in the event
Total 75 marks
of any computer issues. Make sure that you submit the assignment
rather than attaching it as a comment. Students should ensure that
they have saved a copy of their document before submission.

All graphs should be done using Geogebra or Desmos (or

equivalent) using an appropriate scale. Where the marking criteria
asks for graphs to be labelled, it is sufficient for the equation to be
above the graph or included in the snip from Desmos or Geogebra.
Where more than one function is to be shown on a single number
plane, ensure that the functions are distinguishable through use of
labelling and/or colour and/or dots/dashes etc.
Algebraic work may be typed or hand-written.

Part A Algebraic Techniques 1 mark each = 7 marks
