Design and Construction of a Multi-Purpose Facility Encompassing SK Hall, VAWC Office, and Sports Hall

in Agojo, Looc, Romblon.

Introduction

A multipurpose building is a structure that serves various functions like stores, shops, restaurants, and
cafes, as well as potentially including cinema, offices, and bowling alleys. This kind of building caters to a
wide range of human needs, whether for a business meeting or a youth group gathering (Shakshir , K. Z.,
Shahin, Z., & Naser, R. A., 2015). The multi-purpose hall in Agojo, Looc, Romblon is a well-equipped
venue that provides spaces for various events such as conferences, meetings, performances, and can
also serves as an center during emergencies. The proposed hall would include facilities like the SK Hall,
VAWC Office, and Sports Hall, creating a welcoming environment for community gatherings and
addressing important community development matters. The building is expected to improve social
interaction among residents and provide a ready evacuation center during disasters, benefiting the
population of Brgy Agojo (Lat et al., 2019).

Problem statement

In Agojo, Looc, Romblon, the community faces a challenge without a space that meets various needs and
aspirations of its residents. Currently, key facilities like SK Hall, Violence Against Women and Children
(VAWC) Office, and Sports Hall are not adequately equipped to meet demands, hindering unity, limiting
service access, and restricting recreational and cultural opportunities. The lack of a purpose facility
worsens social inequalities, particularly impacting marginalized groups such as the elderly, women, and
youth. Addressing this issue requires constructing a facility with essential components for community
well-being, providing a hub for socializing, recreation, and support services to bridge service gaps and
promote inclusivity, empowering residents for fulfilling lives.

Objectives

1. To design architectural and interior design that optimizes space, enhances user comfort, and
encourages smooth interaction in the versatile facility.
2. To evaluate community needs, stakeholder feedback, and feasibility studies to ensure that the
proposed design and functionality of the facility meet the priorities and goals of the Agojo
community.
3. To identify potential obstacles, opportunities, and collaborations resulting from incorporating
the SK Hall, VAWC Office, and Sports Hall into the multi-purpose facility, establishing a
foundation for successful implementation and ongoing management.

Methodology

Analyzing the site of the planned facility to examine its characteristics such as terrain and accessibility,
which will influence the design process. Engaging with community members and stakeholders will gather
their input on desired features, ensuring the facility will meets their needs. Surveys and interviews with
residents will help understand priorities and steer the project. Evaluating the design’s feasibility within
budget and regulations is crucial for successful implementation. Identifying key project stakeholders will
clarify roles and responsibilities. Exploring collaboration opportunities within the facility will optimize its
benefits for the community.

Expected results

1. Provide a proper plan of the Multi-Purpose Facility Encompassing SK Hall, VAWC Office, and
Sports Hall in Agojo, Looc, Romblon.
2. The proposed design and functionality of the facility meet the priorities and goals of the Agojo
community.
3. Successful implementation and management
