I. Introduction:
- As the first mobile telecommunications network in Vietnam, MobiFone was established
on April 16, 1993, with the original name Mobile Information Company (VMS). On
December 1, 2014, MobiFone was transformed into MobiFone Telecommunications
Corporation, under the Ministry of Information and Communications. In November
2018, MobiFone has transferred the right to represent the owner to the State Capital
Management Committee at the enterprise. In Vietnam, MobiFone is one of the largest
Telecommunications - Information Technology - Digital Content enterprises, the first
mobile information network provider, with more than 30% market share. MobiFone is a
brand chosen by customers, receiving many prestigious domestic and international
awards and rankings.

- Da Nang University of Science and Technology organized a business trip of the


Mobifone Network in the Central Region for 23 ECE students from the FAST faculty. The
trip is an excellent opportunity for students to gain an understanding of how to work in
organizations specializing in electronics and telecommunications in general, and
Mobifone in particular. Students will also learn what additional equipment they will
require to meet the industry's recruitment needs as a result of this tour. Furthermore, the
trip allows students to relax and explore the center.

II. About the trip:


- Visiting location: center of the Mobifone Network in the Central region, Street 2, Da
Nang Industrial Park, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City.

- Time: The tour is held on Monday, January 8, 2024, starting at 14:00 and ending at
16:00.

- Coming to the Central Mobifone Network Center, students will hear about the history
of the business, and the business's requirements when recruiting. The staff will lead the
students to visit the areas of the center.

III. About Mobifone Network Center in the Central region:
1/ History of formation and development:
a) 1993-1995:
- Established: April 16, 1993.

- Cooperation with Comvik/Kinnevik (Sweden).

- Establishment of Regional Mobile Information Center I (in Hanoi in 1994), II (in Ho Chi
Minh City in 1994), III (in Da Nang in 1995).

- Expand coverage in the North, Central, The South with more than 20 provinces and
cities.

b)1996-2004:
- Launched the first prepaid service in Vietnam.

- First network provider to offer promotional packages intra-network messages.

- Nationwide coverage in 61/61 provinces and cities.

- Meets ISO 9001:2000 quality standards net.

- Exploit international roaming services.

c) 2005-2021:
- Established Mobifone service companies one after another regions and functional
centers.

- Providing the first GPRS data package on the Vietnamese market in 2008.

- Providing the first 3G Data service in Vietnam at the end of 2009.

- Converted into a One Member Limited Liability Company by the House country as
owner in 2010.

- Established MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation in December 2014, converted


into a Supplier Multi Service.

- Successfully tested and provided 4G services and launched the North-South
transmission backbone in July 2016.

- Successful commercial 5G service testing in December 2020.

d) 2021-now:
- MobiFone changed its business strategy and moved change from telecommunications
and service providers to a Digital Service Provider.

- With a new vision in the upcoming new period, MobiFone will continue to make a
strong breakthrough, Step by step become a leading enterprise in the industry creating
a digital ecosystem and providing services digital/digital solutions for consumers and
businesses in Vietnamese and International Industry.

2/ About Mobifone Network Center in the Central region:


- MobiFone Network Center in the Central region under MobiFone Telecommunications
Corporation is the unit that performs the management, operation, and exploitation of
the Telecommunications network in the Central provinces including provinces/cities: Da
Nang, Quang Nam, Hue, Quang Tri, Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai, Dak
Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and is headquartered in Da Nang city.

- This center Organizes and carries out work related to management, planning,
exploitation, and investment in radio and transmission networks guide; Optimize
coverage area to ensure quality Customer service network in 12 provinces Central and
Central Highlands.

- As a leading enterprise providing mobile information services in Vietnam, MobiFone


has continuously been voted as a favorite brand by customers for many years, is one of
the three largest mobile networks in the country, and is currently Expanding business in
many new fields: Telecommunications & IT – Distribution & Retail – Multimedia & Value
Added Services, promising many breakthroughs and successes.

IV. Experiences during the tour:


- 23ECE students at Da Nang University of Science and Technology get the opportunity
to learn about Mobifone's origins and progress. The staff delivered an excellent
presentation for the students. Students learned about the Mobifone Group, the
Mobifone Company, and open career prospects at the Mobifone network center as a
result of her sharing. Finally, she discussed the requirements necessary to satisfy

employers in this profession. All of the relevant material is available to the pupils in just
one hour.

- After that, the students will have 5 minutes to rest and settle in line so the staff here
can lead us throughout the facility.

- He took us to the rooftop of the building to see the radio station. He then explained
the operating principle of the station.

- The next place that he took us to was server rooms. the building has 2 server rooms:
one on the 6th floor, and the other on the 4th floor. The air inside those rooms is
freezing as there are many air conditioners in case severs are overheated.

- Last but not least, we have a chance to enter the source room which is located on the
2nd floor. This room has supplied all the power for stations and server rooms.

- After the tour, the staff took us to the coffee room where employees can relax, chat
with each other, and have their coffee. All of us have a chance to make our coffee by
using the Espresso machine. We then sat down and had a chat about the trip while
sipping our hand-made coffee.

V. Lessons and impressions after the tour:


- After completing that field trip, I would like to use this report to express my opinions
after the tour:

 The Mobifone Network in the Central region is a modern and dynamic working
environment.
 The company always meets the daily needs of employees.
 The employees are very friendly.
 Here the professionalism in work is high, making it an ideal destination for
students studying telecommunications.

- For me, the trip was meaningful. It allows us to regain knowledge and the people's
value created after visiting the Mobifone network in the Central region of Da Nang. This
trip brings excitement not only to me but also to many other 23ECE students. I can say I
feel more attached and enjoy my major more through this trip. The knowledge that the
students learn through the trip will be necessary equipment for the future. Mobifone
network in the Central region will be the dream company for me and many other
students, an ideal stop for a career.
