E MAY well have just enjoyed one of the warmest Octobers in history, but Christmas is coming. Believe it or not, the big day is just eight weeks away and many shops already have the decorations up and festive products on display while restaurants, bars and venues across the land are already being inundated with Christmas party reservations. And though eight weeks may seem like all the time in the world, those wishing to indulge in festive fun should get busy with their bookings if they wish to have a Christmas party on the town. Theatres across Carmarthenshire and Swansea are already putting the final touches to their seasonal offerings and 2011 is sure to be a bumper year when it comes to men in tights. This year is surely less a case of its behind you and more of whats on offer in front of you, with a wide range of classic shows taking to the stage. With performances of Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan and Jack and the Beanstalk, all on offer

he newly-refurbished Stag and Pheasant in Carmel will be serving up a fantastic traditional Christmas lunch when the big day comes around this year. With all the produce sourced locally, including deliciously succulent Pembrokeshire turkey and hand-made mince pies, lunch at the Stag and Pheasant will ensure that everyone gets a taste of the perfect Christmas in Wales. And whats more, even Sion Corn will be taking time out from his busy schedule to call in at the Stag and Pheasant. Sion will be on hand to give youngsters a double dose of Christmas delight with a gift and the chance to have a festive picture with the man in red himself. Festivities at the Stag and Pheasant are set to start at noon, with doors opening from 11am to give everyone the time to relax with a drink and a tasty festive appetiser all served by one of Santas special helpers.
