I. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the learners must be able to:

B. Developmental 1. Motivation Rearrange the following “Scrambled Words”
Activities (5 minutes) The teacher will instruct the class to arrange the scrambled words and
identify what these words mean.

Teaching Strategy: Use of Graphic Organizer
The teacher will show a scenario on the board and ask students to group in
pairs and discuss the situation from the scenario.
Scenario:
2. Presentation “Mrs. Maria Mercedes, Thalia’s mother thought of surprising her daughter
(5 minutes) by buying a new set of computer. When Thalia has opened the computer,
an error message displayed on the screen.
Thalia doesn’t know what she will do. Can you help Thalia on her
problem?”

Teaching Strategy: Open-Ended Question Strategy


The teacher will ask whether Thalia’s problem has something to do with the
operating system and its installation. Then, the teacher will call students to

Activity Teaching Strategy: “Flow Chart”


(15 minutes) Puzzle Map Activity
The teacher will ask the students to align the order of sequences in
installing operating system.
Instructions:
1. The class will be divided in to 4 groups.
2. Answers will be written in a paper and show to the teacher when
ask to reveal their answer. Write the group number on top of their
answer.
3. Each group will choose the order in installing operating system.
4. Each group will explain the rationale in their sequence/order.
5. Every correct answer is equivalent to 2 points. The total points
earned will be added to student’s performance grade for the day.

Let the students generate their understanding by asking the following
questions:

 How do we perform installing operating system?
 In your own words, can you translate the order/process of
installing operating system?

Abstraction
(20 Minutes) Teaching Strategy: “Teach Me”
Lecture-discussion and demonstration:
The teacher will demonstrate the steps in installing operating system.
Explaining each step from one process to another using an actual
computer for installing operating system.
Step 1:In some cases, set up a booting priority in the BIOS (press the Del,
F2 or F12 button) immediately after restarting the computer.
Step 2: The first step is choosing a language, time format, currency and
keyboard layout.
Take out your operating system DVD and insert it into the computer.
Step 3:.In the next step, you have to click on the Install now and then the
license terms must be accepted by ticking the “I accept the license terms”
checkbox.
______.Clicking Next will take you to setting up your password.
______.If you already have a pervious version or Windows installed on
your computer, the installation process will offer you an upgrade option. In
this case, we recommend choosing the Custom option and perform
complete reinstall.
______.If you connect to a Network, the choose a network type window will
pop up. Choose the network type and click Next.
______.If you are installing on a computer with a pervious version, an
allocated drive will be created for the installation. Click this drive and click
on Drive Options (advanced), then click on Remove.
______.If the DVD Booting setup was successful, then Windows should
run automatically after restarting the computer.

Teaching Strategy: Demonstration


Group Activity:
Directions: Each group must perform the following;
1. Turn on the computer.
2. Perform installing operating system.
3. Upon successful installing of operating system, the teacher will
evaluate whether installing of operating system is completed.
Specific instructions:
a) In 5 counts, everyone must proceed to their respective group
silently.
b) One member of each group will draw lots to determine the order
of their performance.
c) All groups will explain the order/process of installing operating
system.

updates and drivers.
