Biography of Plato 1.The main idea of the theme is the reasons why Plato voice has still a great influence on today’s philosophical field and how he was a great philosopher as well as a scientist, poet, political theorist, and priest in the past and why modern philosophers inspire him . 2. The type of mental picture I received from the author description is that Plato was a very smart person since his childhood and he knew himself very well. He has a different way of philosophy compare to other philosophers in his era. He even founded an Academy. I think he is an extraordinary person as his way of thinking seems simple but very useful for human beings. He could do big picture in his sight that is an obvious thing as he is not a normal or ordinary person like us. 3.The ways the author made his biography interesting is that he made the time line from the background of Plato and the initial life in Athens. Later he described about how he founded an academy in Athens after returning from Italy and Sicily, the work done of Plato during his time and finally the time he died. The biography doesn’t end with the time line of Plato’s dead, he also presented how the Plato voice has impact or influence till today. 4. After reading the text, I feel like I do not understand that much as I am not familiar with philosophy. I don’t really know the terms they used in philosophy so I might say I do not feel connected with the text that much but it is interesting for me. If I get a chance, I would like to try reading his words. In this text, I saw some words that he talks about human nature , I would like to know further about those things.
