WHAT A TEA PARTY!

Yesterday there was a huge protest against the British government

In the 16th of December a group of people from the colonyin Bostondumped 342
chests of tea into the harbour to express their unconformity with Britain. This
initiative was brought about as a symbol to show that Americans wouldn´t be
ruled by other countries.

This event was not spontaneous but triggered by the new laws that the British
government wants to implement both the new taxes for the population without asking
the Parlamentand thefreedom they recently gave to East India Company by eliminating
their taxes to sell their tea, which may result in a monopoly.

The people from the colony were worriedabout the local tea companies and as a result
they were in charge of the protest: so they dressed up as Mohawk Indians and when
the British ships came they entered to the ships, open the boxes and in approximately
three hours they threw all the tea to the sea.

Now the local authorities are analising the concenquences, for example Benjamin
Franklin had offered his money to refund the lost. However, currently it is said that this
will lead to a revolution yet lots of people believe this is exaggerated

Dear Camila,

Go over my comments and try to improve this piece. When we write paragraphs, we
can divide what we want to say into 3 or 4 sentences. If we don’t use punctuation,
linkers, etc, the reader will get lost and won’t understand the idea the writer wants to
convey. Don’t be afraid of using online dictionaries such as, collocations (oxford), word
reference, thesaurus. They’re of great help.

WHAT A TEA PARTY!

Yesterday there was a huge protest against the British government

On the 16th of December the secret society Sons of Liberty in Boston, Massachusetts
dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbour to express their unconformity with
Britain. This initiative was brought about as a symbol to show that Americans
won´t be ruled by other countries.

This event was not unplanned but triggered by the new laws that the British
government wants to implement. The first mistake the government made was to
impose the new taxes for the population without asking the Parliament. The second
factor was the freedom they recently gave to East India Company by eliminating their
taxes to sell their tea.

The citizens from Boston were worried about the local tea companies as they believe
that the flexibly it was given to East India Company may result in a monopoly. As a
result they were in charge of the protest: so they dressed up as Mohawk Indians and
when the British ships came they infiltrated in the ships, open the boxes and in
approximately three hours they threw all the tea to the sea.

Now the local authorities are analysing the consequences, for example Benjamin
Franklin have offered his money to refund the loss of money. However, it is said that
this will lead to a revolution but lots of people believe this is exaggerated.
