Learning Episode 1
A. MOTIVATION
1. Today, we will explain the importance of fabric care.
2. Explaining the importance of fabric care is important in order for us to know how to
properly take care of our clothes.
3. At the end of the lesson, you are going to explain the importance of fabric care.

B. PROBE & RESPOND

Drill
 Have you ever experienced issues with clothing items shrinking, fading, or getting
damaged?
 How do you take care of your fabric/clothes?

Note: The teacher will randomly call students to answer each question.

Pre-requisite Skills
What is Fabric Care?

Fabric care starts with the care label or care tag. It is the ability to
take good care in our clothes of fabrics.

Remember: Different fabrics require different care methods.

Importance of Fabric Care

 Maintaining the quality and appearance of clothing items.
 Extending the lifespan of clothes, saving money, and reducing waste.
 Ensuring clothes are safe to wear (e.g., removing allergens, bacteria, or stains).

Note: The teacher will show a short video about the importance of Fabric Care.

Learning Episode 2: MODELLING

Directions: Explain the importance of Fabric Care. You may give examples to further explain your
answers.

Fabric care is very important to maintain the quality, appearance, and logetivity of textiles. Proper fabric
care helps fabrics maintain their original appearance and aesthetic appeal. Fabrics that are well cared for
tend to last longer. Following appropriate care instructions, such as washing at the correct temperature,
avoiding harsh chemicals, and handling delicate fabrics gently, can help prevent fabric damage, color fading,
and fiber degradation.

Learning Episode 3:

A. Guided Pratice: Group Activity

ACTIVITY 1: TRIAD
Directions: The class will be divided into three (3) groups. Each group will be given a picture about
fabric caring. All they need to do is to explain in front of the class the importance of fabric care as shown in
the picture.

B. Independent Pratice:
ACTIVITY 2
Directions: Explain the importance of Fabric Care at least (3) sentences.

Directions: Get ¼ sheet of paper and answer the given question.
