Lube Oil Pump Relief Valve Kit for JG/2, JGA/2, JGM, JGN, JGP,
and JGQ Frames
Ariel now provides a relief valve rebuild kit A- C-0084 and C-0866 pumps have a date code
30279-K with a new style plunger and adjustment located between the pump inlet/outlet ports (see
screw for C-0084 and C-0866 lube oil pumps on Figure: Lube Oil Pump with Relief Valve). Older
JG/2, JGA/2, JGM, JGN, JGP, and JGQ frames. The pumps used a date code format of “A19” to

Relief Valve Rebuild Kit Installation

CAUTION

Confirm equipment is properly de-energized prior to


performing maintenance on lube oil pump.

1. Remove valve cap cover.


2. Loosen hex nut until adjustment screw can
turn freely with hex nut.

7. Remove adjustment screw with hex nut from


valve cap.
8. Remove valve cap gasket and valve cap cover
gasket from valve cap. A pick may be neces-
sary.
9. Install new gaskets from kit A-30279-K. Fully
thread new adjustment screw into the valve
cap from the pump end. Thread hex nut onto
adjustment screw.
10. Install valve cap hand wrench tight into pump
housing.
11. Position adjustment screw with 7/16 inch
protruding from the top of the hex nut when 12. With the unit running at minimum operating

13. Once oil pressure is set, tighten hex nut hand
wrench tight. Verify valve cap and cover are
hand wrench tight.
14. Stamp or engrave pump body near the date
code with "XX" to signify the pump has been
modified with A-30279-K.
