COMMUNICATION

Intercommunication System

An intercommunication system is a set of intercom units consisting of intercom units

consisting of circuits, buttons, microphones, receivers and sometimes handsets connecting to

each other at different stations (rooms or offices) of an organization. Each button bears the

name or number of a station (executive or administrative assistant). An officer can call any

single channel of conference with multiple locations at once. The intercom unit also allows

private conversations at once. The intercom unit also allows private conversation between

and two channels without disturbing the others.

Press call to page another station (room or office). Press talk to communicate. Press

lock to audio monitor another room or office. An intercom nit can be either analogue or

digital.

There is also a door intercom unit. When a person presses the buzzer at door,

someone inside at the service station lifts the handset, communicates with the person then

releases the door lock mechanism, if necessary, to allow the person to enter.

With the digital system, the person presses the appropriate number on the keypad and

the officer designated to the number being called will answer.
