Mystery
Hi, my name is Jen! Thank you for downloading my “Who Stole the Cookie?” gingerbread man mystery.
The activities in this packet are intended for use by one individual user or classroom. You may make copies
for your own personal or classroom use only. The activities may not be shared in any other way.
Detective Marcus is trying to figure out who stole a cookie from the cookie jar. He needs
your help!
There are FIVE different “cookie thief” mysteries included with this game (on pages 5-9).
Each mystery contains unique clues and a unique guilty suspect. You can play any (or all!) of
the five mysteries.
To play, print out copies of the “suspects’ (page 4). *This game can be printed in greyscale
if you don’t want to print in color. As you read the clues in your mystery, the children will
begin to eliminate suspects. They should use crayons or markers to cross off the suspects
on their sheet. When they are down to one remaining suspect, they have solved the
mystery!
After you solve the mystery, color your own Gingerbread Man cookie thief on page 10!
TIP: With younger children, you may want to play this as a group game. You can talk
through the clues and help the children use deductive reasoning to eliminate suspects. The
group will work together to solve the mystery.
