CALL FOR PAPERS

Subject: Publication of MAGLAW student journal- Volume III Issue I (2024).

MAGLAW is an annual publication in existence since 2019. It operates as a peer-reviewed and


refereed journal specifically designed for students. The journal welcomes high-quality papers
from students and provides them with an opportunity to showcase their research and scholarly
work.
The publication of the upcoming Volume III Issue I for year 2024 is approaching. Students
enrolled in three-year and five-year law programmes, LL.M., and Ph.D. have the opportunity to
submit their research papers, case comments, and book reviews by February 28, 2024.
To facilitate speedy processing of the manuscripts, authors are requested to strictly adhere to the
publication guidelines. Queries concerning the journal and submissions therein may be
mailed to maglaw@puchd.ac.in.

MAGLAW
CONDITIONS OF PUBLICATION
1. Anonymity:
The authors must maintain anonymity by not mentioning any personal credentials in their work, as we are
committed to fairness and impartiality during the whole process of publication.
* It is required that the authors send a cover letter consisting of your name, course
pursuing, email id, affiliation and contact details.

2. Liability for Copyright Violations and Plagiarism:


Submissions are accepted for publication on the condition that they do not infringe the copyright or any other
rights of any third parties and that the work does not contain any obscene, offensive, defamatory, or racially
prejudiced material. The author of the research paper shall be liable for any plagiarized content. There shall be
no liability of the publisher whatsoever for any plagiarism or copyright violation. Authors should ensure that
they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, the
work has been appropriately cited or quoted. A certificate of originality acquired from Turnitin or Urkund
must be submitted along with the work. The plagiarism must not exceed 20%.

3. Open Access Statement:


The MAGLAW is committed to open access for academic work. All the articles published in the MAGLAW are
freely accessible immediately from the date of publication. There are no author charges prior to publication, and
there is no charge for any reader to access and download our articles for their own personal use. The ownership
and copyright of the material published by submitters lie solely with the journal.

4. Submission Guidelines:
The MAGLAW is an annual journal that accepts submissions on a rolling basis from the students pursuing law
(LL.B. B.A./B/Com./BBA LL.B. etc.), LL.M. and Ph.D in the field of law. All submissions will be made
through the Open Journal System (OJS), and the submitters can track their submissions through the OJS, which
will be updated from time to time. All submissions must be accompanied by a covering letter indicating name of
the author, title of the submission, and author's email address. The work must also consist of an abstract, an
introduction, the legal point/points involved, case laws cited with proper citation, and a conclusion. The
Editorial Board, overseen by the Editor in Chief, will conduct an initial evaluation and editing process for the
submitted content as part of the peer review process, following which it will be sent to the reviewers/referees.
The submitted work should not have been published or submitted for publication anywhere.
** Submissions from student authors and professionals as co-authors will not be considered.

5. Word Limit:
The MAGLAW accepts submissions in the following categories:
 Research Papers: 3,000 - 6,000 words
 Case Notes: 2,500 – 3,000 words
 Book Reviews: 1,000-2,000 words
* All word limits are exclusive of footnotes
The journal is flexible on the word count depending on the quality of the submission. Referencing and citation
must be in conformity with the Indian Law Institute (ILI) footnoting pattern
(https://www.ili.ac.in/cstyle.pdf). Submissions must necessarily contain an abstract of not more than 200 words
and five keywords.

6. Co-Authorship:
Co-authoring of papers among individuals of the same or different institutions is permissible up to a maximum
of two authors per paper.

7. Formatting Guidelines:
 The authors are strictly required to use British English only.
 The submission must be word-processed and in Times New Roman.
 The main text should be in font size 12 (spacing 1.5) and footnotes in font size 10 (spacing 1.0).
 A one-line gap must be maintained between all paragraphs and headings.
 All paragraphs must begin with a one-inch indent.
 All hyperlinks must be in black and must not be underlined.
 All tables, graphs, figures, charts etc. must be numbered consecutively.
8. The submissions are to be made through OJS:

9. Guidelines to the Authors:


1. Reporting standards:
When appropriate, the primary or fundamental data that forms the basis of any research should be
represented accurately in the paper. Research studies paper should contain sufficient detail and references
to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical
behaviour and is unacceptable.

2. Structure:
I. Abstract (200 words) and Keywords (5 words)
II. The manuscript is organized by headings and subheadings. The Author should follow the structure
while preparing the manuscript as given below:
1. Introduction
1.1 Objectives of Study
2. Research Methodology
3. Content/Data Analysis
4. Arguments and Discussion
5. Result/Findings
6. Conclusion and Suggestions

3. Multiple, redundant, or Concurrent publications:


An author should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one
journal. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical
publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.
