“One week FDP on Research Methodology and Latex”

8th -13th July, 2019

Department of CSE, RYMEC has organized one week FDP on “Research Methodology and
Latex” from 8th -13th July, 2019. The FDP program received an overwhelming response with 45
participants from various institutes/colleges approved by AICTE and affiliated to various
Universities across the state.

FDP Organizers: Rajeswari R.P ,Nagaveni Biradar, Mr.Lingaraj, ShivaKumar, Puneeth.

Day 1: Inauguration @ 10.00 AM

FDP was inaugurated on 8th July, 2019 at CSE seminar hall Shanmukhappa K Muttagi ,
Scientific Officer at Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST) , Department of IT BT
and S&T Government of Karnataka Bangalore. along with Dr. Sunil M.V, Dr. T. Hanumanth
Reddy ,HOD CSE,RYMEC, Dr. Girish H, Dean Academic , Dr. k Veeresh ,Principal ,RYMEC
and the hour able chairman of RYMEC Sri J.S. Basavaraj Sir.

During the inaugural , Dr. T.Hanumanth reddy welcome the gathering. Principal spoken about
the importance of the FDP . Shanmukhappa K Muttagi gave insights about the funding agencies
. Dr. Sunil NV also spoke about the significance of research methodology. Rajeswari R.P
introduced the resource persons. Dr. Veergangadhar Swamy also spoke about the importance of
workshop. Dr. Girish H rendered vote of thanks. further the management felicitated the resource
persons.

Shanmukhappa K Muttagi , scientific officer, VGST ,Bengaluru gave insights about various
insights about the funding schemes and agencies available to promote innovation among the
student and faculty community. Sir gave very useful inputs regarding the formats and procedure

Dr. Sunil started the session on literature review covering various aspects of the research based reviews

Day 2: Technical session 10.00-12.30 pm

Dr. Sunil started the session on searching the Authentic Content for review. Sir gave very useful
insights about how to search for a topic in google , formulating the research problem .

Day 2: Technical session 2.30-4.00 pm

Resource Person: Dr. Mahanand B.S, Dept of CSE,SJCE,Mysuru

Dr. Mahanand started the session with introduction to Latex and thesis writing using Latex

Day 3: Technical session: 10.00 to 12.30 pm

Dr. Mahanand B. S gave introduction to beamer software for slide preparation and hands on
session was given.

Day 3: Technical session: 2.20 to 4.30 pm

Dr. Mahanand B. S gave hands on session on latex. Thesis writing using latex. Dr.Mahananda

gave very useful insights about latex.

Day 4: Technical session: 10.00 to 12.30 pm

Dr. Mahanand B. S gave hands on session on latex. Futher getting into depth of table generation
image insertion etc.

Day 4: Technical session: 2.20 to 4.30 pm

Dr. Mahanand B. S continued with hands on session on latex. Futher gave insights to
plagiarism.

Day 5: Technical session: 10.00 to 12.30 pm

Resource Person: Dr. Lakshminarayana , SMDIMD, Mysuru

Dr. Lakshminarayana started with introduction to statistics and hypothesis testing

Day 5: Technical session: 2.20 to 4.30 pm

Dr. Lakshminarayana gave hands on session on Anova and Regression Analysis using R tool.

Day 6: Valedictory function

During the valedictory, Dr. T.Hanumanth reddy summarized about FDP. Principal spoken about
the conduction of the event. Dr. Girish H congragulated all the organizers and participants. Few
of the participants from BITM, Ballari , VSKU,Ballari , PDIT hospet and RYMEC ,Ballari gave
oral feedback about the FDP. Certificates to participants were distributed by Dr.T.Hanumanth
Reddy, Dr.Girish H, Dr. Veeresh K. At the end Vote of thanks was given by Rajeswari R.P.
