By giving thanks for the presence of God Almighty, because of His grace and guidance
we were able to complete the "SIK" course assignment in the form of a paper entitled
"Information System Technology in Nursing Education".
With the preparation of this paper, it is hoped that it can help friends in the context of a
more thorough understanding of the material presented, as well as in this material briefly
presenting things that need to be known related to Information Systems Technology in Nursing
Education.
The author realizes that in the preparation of this paper there are many shortcomings,
therefore the author hopes that in the future this paper can be further refined through constructive
criticism and suggestions.

 CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background
Along with the times, there have been many changes and developments in various fields,
especially in the field of health education which continues to make innovations in its application.
It can be seen in the field of nursing education that is starting to develop and take advantage of
technological advances, such aslearning with the help of practice videos, medical devices such as
infusion pumps and distance learning such as zoom.

The development and use of this technology was increasingly felt when the Covid-19 pandemic
began to hit the world. Where all community activities are limited, all the sophistication of
technology to support continuing education in the nursing environment. Then all methods are
used starting from online learning via zoom, google meth, classroom and many others. So that
until now this method has been satisfactory enough to be able to carry out the teaching and
learning process during a pandemic. However, now many people prefer delivering material
directly, because it is easier to understand. So by adopting this theme, it is hoped that the
information that should be conveyed properly and not be boring.
1.2 Purpose and Objectives
The intent and purpose of writing this paper are:
1. Understand the meaning of information system technology in nursing education
2. Know examples of technology utilized in nursing education
3. Understand the benefits and uses of technology in nursing education
1.3.Scope of the Problem
The purpose of writing this paper is that students are expected to be able to analyze the
development of nursing technology or health technology that can be utilized in nursing
education. As well as making it easier for medical personnel to provide efficient and effective
health services and can make it easier for nurses to monitor clients.

 CHAPTER II
DISCUSSION

A. Basic Concepts of Information Systems

Information system is a collection of components within the organization related to the
process of creating and flowing information. The Information System has components, namely
processes, procedures, organizational structures, human resources, products, customers, suppliers
and partners. Research results have proven that the use of an effective nursing information
system and appropriate technology will be able to reduce errors in giving
patient care planning. Use of nursing information systemsIt will also improve the quality of care
and nursing care.

This nursing information system technology is not only developing in the health sector, but
also in education which continues to progress. There are many new technologies being
developed to support nursing education in Indonesia and even the world. Technology is an
important part of the dynamic world of education at this time, and nursing education is no
exception. Technology-based learning media was developed to increase student engagement in
learning, hone critical thinking and professional behavior in achieving competency. Thus,
information system technology in nursing education is a system formed by utilizing technology
in the learning process with the aim of facilitating the educational process. The application of
information system technology in nursing education can be seen by the emergence of various
nursing education applications, applications that assist in teaching such as zoom, classroom and
so on. These various applications appear in accordance with the needs of the times that
continue to grow. Various technologies in education to support nursing have had many positive
impacts.

B. TYPES OF APPLICATION OF TECHNOLOGY IN NURSING EDUCATION

The use of technology in nursing education has been widely used, such as during a pandemic
which required every activity to be done from home and there were limitations in interacting
with other people. teaching and learning in Indonesia and even the world, this is done so that
education can continue. Utilization of these various applications is used for learning on nursing
campuses and even in sharing training for nurses which is carried out online. This application
allows the learning and training process to continue even with a long distance. Even learning
media began to develop in adjusting to the circumstances that occurred, such as learning through
learning support media such as YouTube and the use of nursing care applications were also used.
These applications include:

1. Complete Guide to 149 Indonesian Nursing Diagnoses (IDHS)

 The Indonesian Nursing Diagnostics application is a nursing diagnosis guide application,
containing 149 Nursing Diagnoses made specifically for nurses and nursing students,
aiming to make it easier to study nursing diagnoses via smartphone. The material in the
application is very complete containing 149 Nursing Diagnoses which refer to the
Indonesian Standard Nursing Diagnostics (IDHS) source, material in nursing diagnoses
starting from Definition, Causes, Major Symptoms & Signs, Minor Symptoms & Signs,
and Related Clinical Conditions. In addition, the application is very easy to use and is
equipped with a Search feature based on Diagnostic Codes and Diagnostic Names,
besides that there is a Favorite feature.

2. Complete Indonesian Nursing Intervention Guide (SIKI)

The Indonesian Nursing Intervention Application is an intervention guide application in
nursing, containing 589 interventions and 149 diagnostic links for nursing interventions,
the application is made specifically for nurses and nursing students, aims to make it
easier to study nursing interventions via smartphone. The application material is very
complete and refers to the source of the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards
(SIKI).

3. Complete Guide to Indonesian Nursing Outcomes (SLKI)

The Indonesian Nursing Outcome Application is a nursing output guide application,
contains nursing outcomes and diagnostic links, the application is made specifically for
nurses and nursing students, aiming to make it easier to study nursing outcomes via
smartphone. This very complete application contains 149 Diagnostic Links and 137
Nursing Outcomes which refer to Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards (SLKI)
sources. The contents of the material in the nursing output application start from
definitions, expectations, and outcome criteria.

4. EKG guide
This app is a great resource for nursing students, new RNs and experienced nurses
learning to read and interpret EKGs. Identifying abnormalities on an electrocardiogram
(ECG) is one of the most complex skills a nursing or RN student learns. This app has
more than 200 examples of common and uncommon EKG readers.

5. Epony Application
This app provides history behind names of diseases, fractures, surgical procedures and
many more. This application can help nursing students and nurses to search by category
or popularity more easily.

6. Nursing center
This app helps nursing students and registered nurses (RNs). This application combines
five resources into one easy-to-use interface. Nurses and nursing students can access a

 database of more than 5000 drugs, a dictionary with more than 75000 entries,
interpretation of hundreds of lab and diagnostic tests and the review of more than 250
medical conditions.

C. BENEFITS OF INFORMATION SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY IN NURSING

EDUCATION

1. Makes it easy to do distance learning

2. Facilitate the provision of material and also examples of nursing care actions
3. Facilitate in carrying out nursing actions
4. Save costs and also space
5. Easier to access
6. Students and nurses find it easier to find new information and learning

D. LACK OF INFORMATION SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY IN NURSING

EDUCATION
1. Less efficient when used in nursing practice
2. Making the interaction between teachers and students less effective
3. Dependence on technology

A. Conclusion
The times have brought technological advances in various sectors, one of which is in the field of
nursing. Advances in technology in nursing education in particular bring considerable influence
and change.Information system technology in nursing education is a system formed by
utilizing technology in the learning process with the aim of facilitating the educational
process. Some examples of information system technology in nursing education are

Guide to Indonesian Nursing Intervention (SIKI), Complete Guide to Indonesian Nursing

These various technological developments have been able to make the education system
in nursing better, although it does not rule out the possibility that there will be adverse
effects that may occur, but this is not a big problem because of the fact that now the use
of technology has made it much easier for nurses.

B. Suggestion
Through this paper, it is hoped that readers can add insight and knowledge about nursing
information system technology in nursing education. We hope that readers can expand their
knowledge of the material from this paper. And we also hope that readers can understand all the
explanations given in this paper, so that if there is something unclear or there are errors in the
preparation of this paper the reader can provide input for the sake of perfecting the preparation of
this paper.
