Key actions:

 Reduce the energy density of the HY004.5 diet, the energy density of the first stage diet should
reflect the feed consumption of the flock during the wintertime. The energy intake should be no
more than 315kcals/bird/day at peak - this target energy intake takes into account the
temperatures experienced during the wintertime.
 Use a sperate summer and winter time feeding regime to reflect seasonal changes in feed intake.
 Please send all suggested and proposed diet details to MK for comment.
 Prevent bodyweights becoming excessive in rear, monitor bodyweights particularly post 12
weeks as this is when the bird is most predisposed to acquiring bodyfat. Consider reducing the
nutrient density of the diets in this period if excessive bodyweights continue to be a chronic
issue.
 Use a liver tonic solution incorporating choline (500mg/kg), Vitamin B12, Vitamin E (50 -
100ppm) and Selenium (0.3ppm)
 Continue to monitor for the presence of mycotoxins and maintain the inclusion of an aflatoxin
'based' toxin binder.
 Monitor bodyweights and body condition as flocks progress into lay ensuring that bodyweights
do not become excessive.
 If bodyweights are on target reduce the age of light stimulation to 15/16 weeks, please see matrix
details below showing both age of light stimulation and bodyweights, please aim to adhere to
combinations marked as "c".
