Golden rice contains 20x more beta carotene, a precursor of vitamin a in plain rice. It was made by
inserting a gene from the daffodil plant and a gene from the bacterium Erwiniauredovora but let's just
skip to the interesting part.

Vitamin A is an essential micronutrient for growth, development, and keeping the body's visual and
immune systems healthy.
