Watching soap operas and dramas daily can have negative impacts on one's mental health and perception of reality. Soap operas often depict distorted realities that do not reflect everyday life and can leave negative impressions, especially on teenagers. Excessive viewing of dramas can also create a false sense of reality and cause isolation from social and physical activities. While television viewing provides entertainment, making dramas and soap operas a daily routine risks separating viewers from reality and potentially causing depression or other mental health issues.

Television is the most popular form of entertainment in every household in
Indonesia. However, I think watching television too much especially soap operas and dramas can have negative impacts. Firstly, the definition of soap opera is a television or radio drama series dealing typically with daily events in the lives of the same group of characters. Technically, soap operas is for entertainment in our daily life, but watching it all the time will be bad for your mental health. Often, these shows makes a sense of distorted reality. Things that are happening in soap operas rarely occur in everyday life, and this gives youngsters a wrong picture of the world. We know that these dramas aren't real, but they leave a negative impression on the viewers, especially teenagers. There are research too about how soap operas can have long-term memory problems, about 7.3 times women can have it while those who are watching soap operas were 13.5 times. And the second one is dramas, i believe in this generation mostly teenagers especially women are most likely have watched dramas. Like I said in soap operas, watching something that’s not really display the current state of the world can make a fake sense of reality, and that makes you to judge the world we live in. Still there will be no harm if you’re watching dramas for fun, but if it’s getting in the way of physical and social activities and causing you to become isolated, it's time for you to stop. In conclusion, watching TV is good for for your entertainment, but watching dramas and soap operas as a daily routine can make you to isolate or separate you from the reality, even bad mental health such as depression. Let’s face the reality and judge our world positively, even though the world current state is bad and makes us want to fantasize the dramas or soap operas we watched, let’s just fight it for our future.
