Optical Networking Customer Support Engineer

LightRiver Software is a US based software and services company and is a division of LightRiver Technologies &
LightRiver Technologies UK, Limited. We support many of the largest Telecommunications, Internet, and Utility
companies globally. LightRiver Software develops and maintains the netFLEX® Optical Domain Controller application
which provides network service activation and surveillance. LightRiver Software is headquartered in Holmdel, NJ and
has support, sales, and engineering staff located in various remote US locations.

Preferred Skills

• Deep knowledge of optical networking, specifically including DWDM/OTN & Ethernet from various vendors.
SONET DS1 thru OC192 and SDH is a plus. Please list the specific equipment you have experience with.
• NOC and/or onsite experience in provisioning, troubleshooting, and overall process development
• Knowledge of TL1, SNMP, CLI, REST, RESTCONF, Netconf/Yang protocols

Job Description Salary Range: depends on experience

This position will be in support of various different roles: Customer Support, on-boarding, and various forms of software
testing. Primary job function is to provide netFLEX software / application support to your assigned group of customers
throughout Europe. Responsibilities include troubleshooting server OS, assisting IT administration, troubleshooting
software and network telecom equipment issues. In addition, onsite and web meeting customer training support is
required for your region. Work is primarily remote from your home office and also at customer locations.

Candidate should be located within the United Kingdom, with access to a major airport or train for travel.

Job Requirements

• Primarily work from home office. Access to a, quiet, home office is required.
• 2 years minimum work experience in telecom, preferably in a NOC environment
• Excellent customer service support
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, as well as other communication packages – Microsoft Teams, Cisco
WebEx, Zoom, BlueJeans, Google Meet, and others utilized daily, with video
• Must be able to provide own PC desktop support
• Must be a self-starter and self-motivated with a strong initiative to learn, exhibit outstanding teamwork, and
have excellent communication skills for cross-departmental management
• 10-15% a year of travel time is expected to your assigned customer sites. Potential travel to US based LightRiver
offices in Concord, CA or Holmdel, NJ also.
• Understanding and experience with leading telecom equipment
• LINUX/UNIX working knowledge is a plus
• Associate degree or higher in engineering or computer science field
