HIGHLY IMMERSIVE PROGRAMME

INTRODUCTION

In the era of globalization, English proficiency is very important among the people of our country,
particularly for the school community. In line with NKRA's policy, one of its core thrusts is to uphold the
Malay language and strengthen English in schools. The Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) also takes
a serious view in improving English language proficiency among teachers and students as well as the
community by creating a 'Highly Immersive Program' where some schools are chosen to be the pioneers of
the English language program. To engage in English at the school level, exposure to English is very
important and should be implemented consistently from primary school. In order to create an English-
language atmosphere, learning cannot only be formalized in the classroom but includes activities that are
fun and engaging.

OBJECTIVES
 To improve the English proficiency of students through increased exposure to English
 To inculcate positive behaviors towards the learning and usage of the English language.
 To cultivate English environment in school.
