Van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh was born on 03/30/1853. His father was a pastor of a church in the
Netherlands. Vincent was the oldest of six children. His mother was a perceptive artist, who loved
drawing plants and flowers.
At the age of 15, he was already working in his uncle's store. At the age of 20 he went to live in
London and then in Paris. He began studying theology in Amsterdam, did not graduate, but served as
a pastor for a few months. Van Gogh produced his first drawings depicting the lives of Belgian
miners.
In 1880 the painter returned to Holland and dedicated himself to painting, in 1886 he went to
France and met great names in the impressionist movement. With the influence of artists, he began
to apply the impressionist style in his arts.
Living off painting, Van Gogh became extremely poor, but still received financial help from his
younger brother, Theo, with whom he had a great affinity.
When he went to live in the south of France, the painter invited Paul Gauguin to go with him. To
a certain extent, coexistence was peaceful, but aggression began to manifest itself. In one of their
fights. Vincent cut off his own ear and sent it to a woman.
Van was admitted to a hospital and later to a psychiatric hospital. At this time, Van Gogh
made many paintings (including his most famous painting, Starry Night) using mainly the technique of
pointillism.
On 07/27/1890, at the age of thirty-seven, Vincent Van Gogh leaves the psychiatric
hospital and goes to Paris. There he committed suicide in a field in the city of Auvers-sur-Oise,
shooting himself in the chest and died 2 days
later.
