We use an ING adjective to describe the source of a feeling.

I like Mark because he is

My neighbour's
dog is frightening.

My kitten
is amusing.
Both ING and ED adjectives can be
used for people / animals.

The cat is frightening. (grammatically correct)


The cat is frightened. (grammatically correct)

Both sentences are correct but the meaning is very


different! Look at the photos to see the difference in
meaning:
