Youngstown State University is actively working with EGCC to facilitate pathways for students to enroll at YSU for a
future semester. We understand that EGCC’s pause on future registration may bring about questions and uncertainties,
but please know that we are committed to supporting you through transfer processes and ensuring a smooth
continuation of your academic journey.
To assist you with the transfer to YSU, we have outlined the following steps:
1. Application:
• Complete the application to transfer to Youngstown State University online Transfer Applications Log In.
This is a simple application, requiring basic information.
• There is no application fee for any current EGCC students who apply to YSU. Please use code “EGCC” as
the fee waiver code on the application.
• Contact the Admissions Office 330-941-2000 with any questions or visit us at the Steubenville campus on
March 11 and the EGCC Youngstown campus on March 12 and March 18.
2. Transcripts:
• EGCC and YSU have developed a process to send your transcript to YSU for free. After you submit the YSU
application, you will receive a confirmation email with an EGCC portal link. Click the link to complete the
permission release form that will allow EGCC to send your transcripts to YSU.
• YSU will conduct a transfer credit evaluation and determine how your undergraduate coursework from
EGCC, and other colleges will transfer to YSU for your program completion. Our academic teams will work
fast so you can complete your program on time.
3. Financial Aid and Scholarships:
• We encourage you to add the YSU school code 003145 on your 2024-25 FAFSA application as soon as
possible.
• To receive financial aid at YSU you need to use our school code, 003145 on the 2024-25 FAFSA application.
If you plan to attend any part of the summer 2024 semester and use financial aid, you need to have the
2024-25 FAFSA completed.
• YSU offers various scholarships and financial aid opportunities. Be sure to explore these options. Visit
ysu.edu/financial-aid-and-scholarships for additional information.
4. Stay Informed:
• Keep an eye out for communications from Youngstown State University regarding important deadlines,
advising and registration, events, and updates related to your transition.
• Refer to the YSU website, egcc.ysu.edu, for additional information.
