Stephanie’s English teacher as well as her core family teacher for the last three years at Nova Academy Early
College High School-Santa Ana. Besides her work in my class, I have had the privilege to get to know
Stephanie personally and have had the honor to watch her grow into an exceptional global citizen. Stephanie has
proven herself as a high achieving and highly driven individual in her academics, community, and social
concern.

Academically, Stephanie has independently excelled and created pathways for her future. Due to her high
emotional maturity, Stephanie took on the challenges of high school by going out and becoming part of the
Boys and Girls Club College Bound program. She attended seminars on how to pursue college, and how to
make sure she can financially be set to afford to go. Coming from a low socio-economic background and a
single mother household, Stephanie had to endure the loss of her father, and stepped up to help out in a
household full of siblings and other individuals living there. Her grades reflect her 3.9 GPA, and her numerous
certificates of recognition show the kind of respect Stephanie has from faculty.

Foremost, Stephanie is a funny, charismatic, and caring individual. She has worked for the Frida Cinema, a
non-profit cinema for years. She also has been a member of various clubs like, Senior Club, Mariachi Club, and
Young Congressional Leaders. She also started Eco Eagles, a club dedicated to environmental activism and is
the president. Her passion for the environment is why she wants to pursue mechanical engineering to create new
ways for sustainability and help with climate change. Stephanie is truly a good person with a good heart.
