WORKING PRINCIPLE

Working Principle
Parason High Consistency Disc Filter (HCDF) is developed for effec ve pulp thickening in wide range of flow
applica ons. The HCDF is adaptable to higher feed consistencies and supports opera ons of variable grades of
pulp and recycled paper.

Cloudy Filtrate Clear Filtrate Pulp Outlet

The pulp is fed into the vat through the inlet located on the side of the filter. The mat forma on starts under
gravity ensuring op mal dewatering. As the rotor rotates, the filtrate is drained through the channels into outer
rotor pipe under vacuum. The fiber mat is knocked off at the top which causes the pulp to fall into the pulp
discharge screw that is located at the center. The rotor channels has a connected valve for separa ng the cloudy
and clear filtrate. The filtrate can be further separated into clear and super clear filtrate.

The filter bags a er mat discharge are cleaned by an oscilla ng shower and are ready for new mat forma on.
The outer rotor pipe provides a con nuous agita on in the vat to maintain uniform stock consistency.

GRAVITY THICKENER

The Gravity Thickener is compact and virtually
maintenance­free, Gravity Thickener can be adjusted
according to the process condi ons such as Auto door Shower
throughput and inlet consistency.
The pulp suspension is fed at a consistency of
0.9 to 2.5% to the inlet chamber into the vat in the
same direc on as disc rota on.

TECHNICAL ASPECTS & OPERATING PRINCIPLES
PARASON Pulp Thickening machines are constructed following the present state of the art and recognized safety
standards.
Parason Gravity Thickener is simple to install and easy to operate. No external controls are required as the opera ons
are flexible. It has adjustable rota onal speed and outlet weir height for accomoda ng large changes in opera ng
parameters. Addi onal discs can be installed for incremental capacity increases. Small floor space provides a large
dewatering area.
The Parason Gravity Thickener operates con nuously and is used for dewatering or thickening paper pulps in the 0.5%
to 3% density ranges. It houses large filtering areas in minimum space. The Gravity Thickener consists of several discs
installed on a hollow sha that moves in a vat full of pulp. Each disc consists of 4 segments covered with a filter mesh,
whose outlets lead into the hollow sha . As the discs rotate, they lead the thickened pulp to an adjustable overflow
weir for their removal through to the discharge box.

Working Principle
Parason Folded Thickener in comparison to normal thickener
provides a larger filtra on area. This can translate into smaller
space requirements and a higher capacity for specific floor space.
The wire clothing is divided into sectors so that each sec on can be Stock

DECKER THICKENER

Parason Decker Thickener consists of a drum installed


Parason Decker Thickener consists of a drum installed eccentrically to the vat radius. This allows more clearance on the
feed side than the discharge side. The drum is set to rotate in the direc on of the feed and carries the stock further for
dewatering.
The filtrate is discharged through the outlet of the drum & an outlet connec on on the vat head. The consistency of
discharged pulp is regulated by adding or removing steel weirs to the overflow wall. In this way, with the help of Decker
Thickener, the pulp is thickened and stored in the chest.
