Section C - Valves
C.1 The valves listed below are to be opened up for examination, seats and discs ground
together, internals scraped clean and coated with “Apexior”) and repacked glands
where applicable.
On completion of all works the valves are to be surveyed by Class and owners
representative.
The valves to be replaced with new jointing and closed in the presence of the vessel’s
Chief engineer and /or owners’ representative.
During flooding of the dry dock, flooding is to be suspended one (1) foot before the
vessel leaves the blocks and all overhauled sea valves opened to the satisfaction of the
Chief engineer, on verification of valve operation flooding can be recommenced.
3 meters staging tower costs to be included for port & starboard midships draft valves in
No 3 ballast wing tanks.
Butterfly valves over 300mm diameter to be inspected using cherry picker from the dock
side without dismantling. Butterfly valves under 200 mm diameter to be dismantled for
inspection.

C.2 UTI Thickness gauging to be carried out on following ships side stub pipes:
UTI to be contacted from Owner’s representative firm and handed over to Owner’s
representative on completion – any stubs to be renewed will be advised. Quote minimum
price for UT reading per additional site and number of included readings.
C.3 Standard prices to be given for opening & closing the following various sizes & types
of valves as per C.1.

Allow for the following repairs to “Hanil Hydraulic” butterfly valves generally:
c) Allow for welding of 3 x 50mm diameter x 5mm deep pits. Surface grinding and mech.
Preparation ST2.
d) Coating of valve with two coats (2 x 150 microns) of owner supplied paint. Allow for
0.5m2 coating repair.
e) Reassembly of valve complete and refit on board complete with gaskets, nuts and
bolts.
Total 23 Valves
Valves to be landed to shore workshop and stripped down for inspection. All parts to be
cleaned.
Allow removing and replacing valve rubber seat with new spare (owners supply).
Valves to be fitted back with all new gaskets and nuts/bolts as required.

11 x 300 NB Butterfly Valve Fill / Suc FPT to WBT 5
10 x 150 NB Butterfly Valve Fill / Suct. From WBT 1 to WBT 5.
Total 21 Valve
Allow to remove and replace valve rubber seat with new spare (owners supply).
Valves to be fitted back with all new gaskets and nuts/bolts as required.
Total 12 Valves.
Actuator to be overhauled:
C.10 Allow for dismantling and removal to workshop for inspection and overhaul of Main
Steam Valve and Condensate Return Valve on Deck.

Allow for removal of 24 x M16 from Main Steam Valve and 16 x M12 from Condensate
Return Valve. Pressure Test must be carried out at 15Bar and certified by Vessel’s SI or
Representative. After job completion both valves must be given 1 coat HT silver steam
pipe paint (owner’s supply) and renewed all gaskets and new galvanized bolts/nuts used.
RETURN VALVE SUPPLY VALVE
C. 11 Inert Gas Isolating Valves to overhaul. (Hanil Lever type wafer valves) fitted to deck seal
outlet, aft main deck.

C.13 Allow to remove and overhaul 6 pieces of butterfly valves NUMBER S (OD
314,315,316,317,318,319), ND 125mm, JIS16K wafer type.
C.14 Allow for removal of 2 pieces of Manifold drain valves for overhaul or change if it is
require, after condition check inform superintendent if require the change.

Allow for the removal of total 32 bolts/nuts and renew.
Allow for the removal of 2 valves from site to shore workshop.
Following work to be completed for each valve -:
1) Valve to be open up for examination. Top flange 8Xm12 studs to remove
2) Seat to be grinding with the spindle seat.
3) Screw down stem to be overhaul.
4) Valve gland studs to be renewed, 2 off. Each approx. M12 thread x 60 mm long, carbon
steel.
5) Valve flange bolts to be renewed. Allow for total 32 x M16 thread x 90 mm long carbon
steel bolts with nuts.
6) Allow for the renewal of all flange joints with ships approved jointing - Klinger.
7) Allow for the renewal of valve stem packing approved packing - Klinger.
8) Valve to be tested using cold hydraulic to working pressure as follows:
A) Valve body complete including valve stem packing,
B) Integrity between valve and seat.

4) Valve gland studs to be renewed, 2 off. Each approx. M12 thread x 60 mm long,
carbon steel.
5) Valve flange bolts to be renewed. Allow for total 32 x M16 thread x 90 mm long
carbon steel
bolts with nuts.
6) Allow for the renewal of all flange joints with ships approved jointing - Klinger.
7) Allow for the renewal of valve stem packing approved packing - Klinger.
Job Scope:

overhauled.

Job Description: Hydraulic winch isolation valve some of them are not working properly
and leaking through spindle valve. Which need to be overhauled

Allow to check A/B #2 and # 1 heating coils as well to prevent future break down of the
system. Pressure test must be carried out and NDT to the most possible damaged
location of the coils.
Item: AUX BOILER n-1 and n-2 HEATING COILS STEAM TO BE TEST

After tested carried if one of heating coil is broken or leaking allow to repaired..
New gaskets must be used for all covers removed. Apply anti-seize to nuts and bolts. .

OF Boilers Safety Valves (6 off) to disconnect easing gear and land to shore
workshop for overhaul.
Valves to be stripped and inspected. Allow for seats to be machined and hand
ground. Allow for renewal of all packing.
Sliding surfaces to be polished and lightly lubricated with Molyslip HT grease.
Valves to be tested and adjusted for lifting pressure of 18 kg/cm2 for Aux boiler
and 7,5 Kg /cm2 for composite boiler on shore test bench.
Certificates to issue on completion to satisfaction of BV surveyor.
Valves to be refitted on completion.

C.25 Description: Please allow to engage Specialized Technician from SBS to perform
service and commissioning to Auxiliary Boilers.
Boiler Type: Sunrod CPH 30/28 Pin tube boilers (Smoke tube)
The Following Problem Has Been Present on the Boiler during Discharge operation:
1. Fuel oil regulator valve and transmitters are not working properly.
2. Steam atomizing valve need to be overhauled.
3. Adjustment for fan air draft force is not respond in manual even in manual have
some problems and air pressure transmitters.
4. Kinetrol need to be checked due in not working properly.

C.27 Description: Unit Working Properly. Survey And Certification Must Be Carried Out.

certification.
Provided necessary supervisor, riggers and equipment to conduct load tested in the
presence of attending superintendent and LR surveyor. On completion, test certificates
issued to owner’s representative as follows: Engine Room crane SWL 6.5 ton

apply one coat of primer and two coats of special paint (150mills each).
