OPERATION, REPAIR & MAINTENANCE MANUAL

INDUCTIVE PROXIMITY LIMIT SWITCH

A) CONTROLLING UNIT:
Type : PS2000D
Duty : Limit Switch (Control Unit).
Control Supply Voltage : 110/230 V AC, 50 Hz +/- 10%.
Power Consumption : 5 V A Max.
Speed Sensing Range ‘ON’ : Relay ‘ON’
Visual Indication : LED for 'SUPPLY ON'.
: LED for 'RELAY ON’.
Output Contacts : 2 NO + 2 NC.
Contact Rating : 10 Amps, Resistive at 230V AC 50 Hz.
Enclosure : CAST ALUMINUM (LM-6)
Protection Grade : IP 65.
Surface Finish : RAL 7035
Weight : 2.5 Kg.

B) SENSOR PROBE:
Type : Inductive (Flush Type)
Sensing gap : 18-20 mm.
Probe Diameter : M50
Cable : Built in 3 Core PVC flexible cable 5 meters long.

INSTALLATION:
The sensor probe is to be installed near the rotating part of equipment.
The M.S. Flags are to be fixed on rotating equipment. Ensure that flag surfaces are in one
plane. The controlling unit can be located either in vicinity of the probe. The maximum
distance up to which the controlling unit can be installed from probe is 5 meters.
Sensing probe is provided with standard 5-meter length of cable.

COMMISSIONING:
1) Connect the sensing probe to the monitoring unit.
2) Apply specified control supply voltage. The 'supply ON' RED colour LED will glow.
3) Bring a M.S. object near the front of the probe. At this time RED LED on rear side of
probe will glow.
4) Keep the gap between sensing probe and metallic flag as 18-20 mm.

OPERATION:
The output relay will not be energize with supply ON. The relay will continue to remain ON if the
sensing material is in front of it. When Green LED is glowing the relay is in energized state. The switch
duty is as ‘Limit Switch’ hence the Green LED of the equipment will not glow as the relay will de-
energize.

MAINTENANCE:
1) After setting up and commissioning the Electronic Speed Switch please ensure that top
cover is properly fixed.
2) Periodically check the controlling unit for dust accumulation inside. Clean unit by blowing
low pressure air by blower.
3) Periodically clean the surface of the sensing probe with cloth and soft brush of cleaning.
