There has not been another time in Royal Caribbean's history where our
Friendly, Passionate, and Committed values have been more present. To our
crew members on board and at home, we thank you!

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our brand and The
ROYAL Way values. While there are still many unknowns, we become more
optimistic every day in our return to service. There are two reasons for our
optimism: your passion for Royal Caribbean and our guests' eagerness to
return to cruising.

In July, you received an invitation to participate in a survey about your feelings


on returning to service, the cruise industry, and life onboard. Over 55,000 of

you responded and shared your thoughts and feelings about Royal Caribbean.
One of our highest survey response rates ever! We are reading through all the SVP, SVP,

were ready to return with no hesitation! We have included the highlights of
this survey on page 2 of the newsletter. We know you are ready to return to
the fleet, and we continue to work with both the Healthy Sail Panel and the
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to make that happen as soon as possible.

This week our very own Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean
Group, gave an update on our financials and business to the investment
community and then on various financial TV shows. He said, "We have been

CREW REPATRIATION UPDATES

We have come a long way since the global suspension of


sailings. We have repatriated 29,596 crew members!

Here’s an update on upcoming repatriation efforts:

CHINESE CREW We have successfully booked a commercial flight with Vietnam


Air, scheduled for August 14 (116 seats). The flight will depart
ONBOARD LHR, with a stopover in Hanoi, before continuing to its final stop

MAURITIAN Our next charter is on August 19 (150 seats) out of London where
some crew from Celebrity Apex will be joining. Crew members on
CREW this charter will be given a PCR test on Saturday Aug 15. To

this charter will travel to London for PCR testing and will be
quarantined until the flight, per required Mauritian protocols for
all traveling on a Mauritius charter.

We continue to work with our agent in Mauritius to secure future


charters. For the month of September, the Mauritius government
has approved one charter, scheduled for September 20. As a
reminder crew members are selected for the charter manifest
based on original sign-on date “longest on, first off”. Due to the
unfortunate oil spill on the shore of Mauritius the country has
declared a state of emergency and we expect the country to
remain closed beyond Aug 31st.

DESTINATION MOTIVATION We asked our team leaders. What motivates you? Here’s their answer!

Tijana’s Answer
When I ask myself: “What motivates me?” I found out that it is hard to give a straight,
simple answer. Over time different needs and emotions influenced my life, and my
motivation is continuously changing.

Primarily, I am a gym teacher. I love to see my students learning new things,


developing new skills, and changing their way of looking at life. It is gratifying when
you see other people moving and taking actions they never did before. That is one of
the reasons I became a Scuba Instructor and joined Royal Caribbean. I am one of the
lucky people that can say my hobby became my job. I remember being a new hire in
2006, standing on the pier, and looking at the Sovereign of the Seas. I just kept Tijana Matosevic
thinking, “Wow, this is a huge ship!”. I knew then that a lot of my dreams are about to Shore Excursions Manager
come true. I traveled, met people, experienced great things. Chasing a dream can be a Labadee, Haiti
powerful motivation.
Motivation has as many faces as there are human desires. Whether we define it as a drive or a need, motivation is a
condition inside us that desires a change. I experienced this change through the years as I developed new skills. I became
Shore Excursions Manager and had the privilege of working with amazing people throughout the Fleet. I found out that
my major motivation was my Shorex Team and their well-being. I know that if I have a good team that is cared for, the job
will be done easily.

After years of working on ships, I developed a considerable desire to be outdoors. Coming to Labadee fulfilled this, one of
my most important needs. Like most people, I like challenges, which motivates me to manage a big team. Being in Haiti, as
Labadee Shore Excursions Manager, I closed the loop that I opened in 2006 when I worked there as a new hire learning
how to guide all our fantastic shore excursions. Now, as a manager, I see it all from a different angle. The constant need to
improve the service that we provide to our guests while having team connection and collaboration is currently my biggest
motivation.

People often say that motivation doesn’t last. That is true if you do not take action and start changing your behavior. When
we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves (Viktor E. Frankl).

Dear Royal Caribbean,

On March 12, I was scheduled to complete my transfer from Adventure of the


Seas to Voyager of the Seas in Vanuatu. Unfortunately, the local authorities
prevented the ship from docking due to health and safety measures.

Over the next 4 months, I would have 3 more scheduled and canceled flights.
I started to feel frustration and disappointment due to the canceled flights,
and I grew anxious, not knowing when I would ever make it home, but I tried
to make the best of the situation. While I waited for an update on my
repatriation, I enjoyed the hotel, the pool, and explored the town, the place
was beautiful with incredible views and nature. Luckily, Vanuatu did not have
any Covid-19 cases, so I did not have to worry.

As I was the only guest at the Grand Hotel, I became friends with all the staff
members. They were so friendly, and they reassured me that I was safe and
made sure I was doing okay. My new friends from the hotel invited me to
their homes, cooked traditional meals for me, and for the 1st time I had a
traditional drink called Kava. With my new friends, I went to the beach, to
the night clubs, festivities, and attended an amazing fire show. They really
made me feel like a part of the family.

I never imagined that I would be in this place for that long in the middle of a
global pandemic. And on top of it, we had to prepare for Hurricane Harold,
luckily it turned and did not impact us. Shortly after the hurricane, we also
experienced a small earthquake. Throughout it all, I was lucky to receive
support from my managers, the entire GSO team, CrewAssist, the hotel staff,
and the port agent.

On July 14, I celebrated my birthday with my new friends. The port agent
surprised me with a birthday cake and bought me presents! I also got to
experience the 40th anniversary of Vanuatu Independence. They celebrated
from July 23 to July 30. An entire week of festivities. It was another fantastic
experience for me.

Finally, on July 31, I was going home! Vanuatu’s borders were still on
lockdown, but it was not an obstacle for me anymore. I had the confirmation
of my charter, which was the only option to get out of the country. So I flew
from Port Vila to New Zealand by charter, then I took my commercial flight to
LAX to CDMX (was a long trip). My time in Vanuatu was an amazing,
unexpected experience and one I will never forget.

I am very thankful for Royal Caribbean. I do not have words to express all my
gratitude for supporting me and taking care of my stay during my time in
Vanuatu, for checking on me if everything was fine while I was stranded, for
taking care of my expenses, accommodation, meals, etc. I´m very fortunate to
be part of the Royal family. Since the beginning, I have received a lot of
support from my managers, CrewAssist, payroll, the Guest Services team,
human resources, just to mention some of them. I´m just proud to belong to
this socially responsible company.

Here are several strategies you can use to boost your level of happiness—

pleasure and the deliberate, conscious attention to the experience. Focus on these
steps:
